Seems like no matter how good the next coach is, he will never be Nick Saban. So would it be smart to take that job?

I know that Bama has all the resources that any coach would need, but Saban casts a huge shadow.

Do y’all honestly think good coaches think like this?

Of course you take the job.
Do people really think that coaches worthy of an offer from Alabama would turn it down because they don't want to follow Saban?
They don't think that way or they wouldn't be successful enough to be worthy of an offer from a place like Bama

If you think they don't, then your fooling yourself.

Why would a good coach subject himself to the scrutiny of the Bama job? Yes, they'll make more money, but at what cost?

There are probably not more than 5 people on this earth who are capable of succeeding in that environment.

Oh I don’t know, to win? To have a great support system backing you? Easy access to recruits in the southeast? I know billy from finebaum scares these guys though.

I’m Sure someone like Mike Norvell would rather not make the playoffs than succeed saban.

Think about how many coaches Bama went through after Bear Bryant. Hard to follow a legend

Depends. Do you think Kiffin is a good coach? Because he essentially Saif this 2 years ago.

Is approximately $20 million a mistake?

I’d take a lot of redneck death threats for that much money.

Nick Saban made it hard for Les Miles at LSU even before Nick went to Bama.

Yes they will, especially if they are already well paid, at a school that has resources and are building a solid program

No factor for a serious coach. Bama is a top tier coaching job, and most coaches would/will consider the offer. Sabans legacy is concrete, and he will be referenced regularly for the next 30 years.

Everyone thinks like this. Obviously in different manners but even the most successful people have doubts and insecurities at times.

Following the greatest coach of all time with an often unreasonable fan base probably one of those times.
