Would Kiffen even consider the Auburn job if Saban wasn't near retirement.

Do you think Saban is above all? How come Brian Kelly decided to take the LSU job that Nick Saban wasn't retiring any time soon? Why do you think Nick Saban is a problem for any HC that wanted to challenge him while he is the HC at Alabama? I think if you had Brian Kelly at Auburn, he would do an okay job there. Might not be as good at LSU because of the roster is by far a lot better and easier to recruit at LSU. Auburn is in a good location to recruit top talents nearby there. Brian Harsin and Gus weren't the right fit. If Kiffin can do it at Ole Miss why not at Auburn with more support and resources than at Ole Miss.

You’d be correct…

However that being said, Bama falling off will also make Ole Miss believe they have a chance too

Auburn being in same state isn't going to win many recruiting battles

You cannot categorize Harsin and Gus the same way.

Gus was the right fit. He won and had plenty of success at Auburn. He just failed to adapt and the game slowly passed him by.

Harsin was indeed the wrong fit.

As I’ve said before, much to the dismay of auburn and ole miss fans both, Kiffin is a good coach. He’s not a championship coach. He’s not gonna beat the sabans or Brian Kelly’s of the football world on a consistent basis but he’s a good coach.

And there’s no shame in that and it’s not a knock on him. He will continue do well at ole miss as a 2nd or 3rd place team or he will do the same at auburn.

Personally, I don’t seem him leaving. Ole miss is a stepping stone job yes but I’m not sure auburn is a destination job either. Not at this time with all the dysfunctional crap within the athletic department.

Having said that, if I were an auburn fan, I wouldn’t be thrilled with a potential Kiffin hire. I’d like to see my school aim higher.

He feels like a fall back plan candidate. He’s ok but I think they should try to do better

Yet the AL/AU series record is 48-37-1. What's yours with UA?

Let me ask you a non-rhetorical question(s). Did you ever play competitive sports? If so, didn't you want to go up against and beat the best teams? I'd imagine that all these coaches that coach for a living are hard-wired in that way of thinking.

You could have stopped there. The only dismay from AU & OM fans is you talking like you have any clue about anything.

No one is worried about Brian Kelly, FYI.

Totally. I wouldn’t be worried about him either. He’s a horrible fit at LSU and will never win in the sec.

No. They don’t. Saban has 7 national championships. He’s played in 9 title games and won 6 at Bama. Kelly has crapped the bed in every championship or playoff game. No one puts them in same category.

Kelly is a good coach but I’ve seen exactly zero pundits put him anywhere near Saban.

Gus seems to have caught up to game at UCF. Maybe auburn is just a dumpster fire
