Would Bama, Florida, Texas, Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, OSU hire Orgeron?

If the answer is no, then why is it even a question here?

I said it weeks ago, had miles been fired after the 2015 regular season, would O have been on anyone's top 10 list? Obviously not, so the fact that half of your fan base was clamoring for him was crazy.

Because he's one of us!!!!1one
And pushes all the right buttons
And pushes all the right buttons

Don't forget that this is the same fan base that just 12 months ago thought that Les Miles deserved another year. I have read far too much foolish comments about LSU's coaching vacancy concerning Coach Orgeron. It's pathetic.

Because our fans are in the post-Miles rebound relationship. The coach worth a damn on our staff is Aranda, and if it comes down between keeping O and keeping Aranda, we need to keep Aranda.

After last night, I would be shocked that he would be on any short list. Couldn't believe the wasted time outs at the beginning of the second half. Definitely I had to think was Miles once again on the sidelines.

How many of those universities we interested in hiring Nick Saban when LSU hired him? I don't recall a bidding war. LSU didn't even pursue Saban. Saban pursued LSU. There also weren't many big time schools pursuing Meyer when he was at Utah.

Except both those coaches didn't have losing records as head coaches.

Dude your really comparing O to Saban and Meyer lmao

Except the NFL teams that had Saban on their list everytime there was an opening.
And Florida outbid Notre Dame to get Urban out of Utah.
Your entire post is incorrect.

Ironically, we know USC wouldn't hire Coach O, even after a moderately successful bid as the interim head coach.
Ohio State is interesting. Luke Fickell was a "home" guy who took over when Tressel went down for the Pryor situation. Ohio State never dreamed of giving him the full time gig: they went out and spent TONS of money to get a "real" coach, Urban Meyer.
Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan play 'big boy' football. After a bad hire, they went out and spent tons of money to get elite coaches: Nick Saban, Brian Kelly*, Jim Harbaugh and Urban Meyer.
If LSU wants to be considered among the "big boy" football club, they'll need to go out and hire an elite coach. Not a 'good fit,' but an elite coach.
If I were a part of the TAF, I'd be busting my arse to get Chip Kelly right now.
*ETA -- I realize Brian Kelly has not gotten "elite" results, but Notre Dame has one arm tied behind its back due to absurd academic standards. I think Brian Kelly could go to a number of schools, get some real talent on board and start winning a ton of games.

They have top 15 recruiting classes every year and play a garbage arse schedule. Stanford plays tougher competition with ore restrictions than notre dame does and wins more. It's not the 60s 70s anymore notre dame gets the fair share of thugs too. Kelly just fricking sucks.

And he has YET to play a game away for Tiger Stadium during this interim period. He's really NOT the answer.

It's not. You must have missed the game last night. It answered that question and shut up most O people minus a few trolls like Caltiger53.

For d-line coach, yes.

He is CAJUN and it would be a cult-like following win or lose. I am NOT Cajun, but from Louisiana and a lifelong fan and he should not be considered!
