I don’t know the guy from shite but all I’ve ever read was that he is the next coming of Jesus for LSU sports. Either he’s sitting up O as a easy fire or he’s nothing and I mean nothing compared to the stories on here. What a complete and utter embarrassment the last SEVERAL hires have been in this program. Shockingly embarrassing.

I don’t think he’s “setting O up” but I do believe SW is chomping at the bit to make his signature hire for LSU head football coach.

Besides Pelini what hire was an embarrassment?
Linehan wasn't great, but our offense wasn't the problem last year and we lost our starting QB in week 2.
And most people on here and in the country thought Pelini was a "high floor" type of hire and we'd be solid on defense. shite, Orgeron performed verbal fellatio on Pelini in the preseason media sessions.
Head coach picks his assistants and the AD signs off on them. Only a few Ponamsky moles have said Woodward was in control of any of these hires.
They got Freeman to say yes and then he bolted, I don't really blame them for that either.

But I could see Woodward, who is very intelligent, playing the long game here of letting Orgeron have just enough rope to hang himself so he can get the funds together and make an elite head coach hire.
I could definitely see that. He's made great head coaching hires at his previous stops.

People don't want to hear this, but Pelini was a great coach. The key word being WAS. It should have been a good hire, but he was apparently burned out and mailed it in.

This is definitely the case.
And it's why I'm really not that worried about the future of the program. If we hire a mediocre DC (which is becoming increasingly likely) and go 8-4 next year, Woodward probably wouldn't hesitate to fire Orgeron.

The name people aren’t mentioning enough with all the problems landing a coordinator is Ponamsky. He’s the guy O keeps crediting for the “great job” he’s doing reaching out to candidates.
Ponamsky is the one making O and Woodward look bad by not doing his due diligence.

Sometimes a person better watch what they wish for. I don’t see a younger version of Nick Saban roaming the sidelines....... yet. Sure seems like this is an era that’s tough to find a can’t miss hire.

If that's the case then that really is tragic that O burned through that much capital and good will post NC that his AD is going to let him drown. That being said, O tends to be his own worst enemy.
