In that time lsu has had only one qb with that kind of talent.

Again I'm waiting for folks to tell me why he should jump ship

And what did he win with that talent?

He didn't win anything with that talent.
So what in the hell would make him think going to LSU and playing with max would be a better idea.

Again . 100 threads. No real answer.
But ranters are pretty good at just hitting the downvote button when they have no logical answer

Yes And with your statement he produces great QBs. LSU has had 1 great QB and won a NC with him. I think you just answered the question right there.

Yes, this has been discussed a lot over the last two weeks or so. And I will throw out the same points others have made, but I will try to deep dive a bit for a more "Logical" answer.

Louisiana Recruiting. Its been talked about a lot, LSU is the only P5 school in the state. Its in the SEC. Yada yada... But something that doesn't get brought up enough: Louisiana produces more NFL players per capita than any state. You mentioned them loving football in Oklahoma too, thats true. They just simply do not have the same talent base to pull from.

Championship Pedigree. Yes Oklahoma has won a lot of titles....in the 70s and 80s. They won one in 2000 but that's been it. They've made the playoffs a lot recently but get knocked out often. (More on that in a bit). LSU has won 3 National Titles since Oklahoma won its last. Its more relevant now.

SEC Competition. As you mentioned, Oklahoma is moving into the SEC....but thats the thing, they are transitioning into the SEC....LSU is established in it. They've recruited for it. Oklahoma has been recruiting to win in the Big XII, not the SEC. Its going to take both UT and OU a bit to get the same type of athletes to compete with the likes of Bama, UGA, LSU, Auburn consistently. The Big XII is one of the reasons Oklahoma gets knocked out the playoffs year after year....they are used to playing those teams, then run into an SEC team and its over.

Financial. LSU is willing to pay. They gave Ed Orgeron almost 9 million. This one doesnt need much explanation

All that said, will he leave OU? Who knows? I'm just giving you the reasons I would leave OU if it were me

And with all that QB talent how many Nattys did he win?

He’d walk into just as much offensive talent and more 4 and 5 star talent on the defensive side than he’s signed in the last 3 cycles.

Pretty easy answer. Your just trolling

That's hilarious.
You think we have as much offensive talent as Oklahoma?

Exactly, Linc is not coming!!!
I played at LSU, I love LSU but if you think LSU is the greatest job you are out of your mind..At one time yes but now...NO!...Fans are big mouthed, negative and really don't know shite about how the program actually runs. They don't want to fill the stadium unless we are undefeated. The Baton Rouge media can't wait to tear down a new coach....all negative BS... They have ruined all the old band chants with punk arse words that now the band cannot hardly play...Who knows if the NCAA may drop something down for the title 9 crap...Many lawsuits still pending..Linc is the man at Okl and they know it...coming here would only be a tryout for two years and then run out of town..3 NC's since 2003 and none of those guys are here.....

Oklahoma is moving into the SEC but will struggle in the SEC. He knows that as well. LSU is easier to recruit and is a hotbed of talent. Winning at LSU would be easier than it would be at Oklahoma.

LSU is a sleeping giant

A "sleeping giant" has not won the second most nat'l titles since 2000- you contradict yourself.

Absolutely. Especially in his 1st year with Boutte back if he takes the job.

Boutte, Malik, Hilton, Bech, BTJ......

Goodwin, Emery,Kiner,Bradford

Max, Nuss, Howard..,

Get the Oline straightened out in the portal and he absolutely has more talent to work with!

They have 0 championships the last 20 years and we have the 2nd most of any school behind bama this century. Louisiana produces WAY more talent than Oklahoma and we both neighbor the state of Texas, a super talent rich state obviously. But LSU also has pipelines to two other talent rich states in Florida and Georgia that Oklahoma doesn’t have. Not to mention we usually take whatever we want from Mississippi when we’re good. If Riley is smart, he’ll realize this obvious advantages we offer over Oklahoma. It’s not all about contract money and facilities, Oklahoma can definitely match all of that but some schools just naturally have a better situation to succeed.

Why son, you just don't understand. LSU in that preeminent program that all otha programs wish they were and in a location that we like to refer to as God's Country . Why with our culcha and economic vigor few can match.

maybe the Riley smoke is simply a smokescreen because he's talking to Gundy?

A&M and Missouri came into the SEC and were immediately contenders and they were middle of the pack in the Big 12. This talking point is overrated, OU recruits nationally and should have no problem continuing to bring in top 5-10 classes.

And the SEC defense mantra is dead. Other than Georgia, who is playing good defense in the SEC, the games are shootouts every week.

there is some great talent in the state.

This is where you are wrong. OU has to dip into Texas for most of their players. The state of Louisiana is significantly more fertile ( NFL per capita numbers), and LSU doesn’t have another Power 5 university to share it with. On top of that, LSU cherry picks out of Texas, and on many occasions they beat out OU for certain players.

LSU won three since OU won its last, beating them on the way to two of them.
