With all the (totally legitimate) sauces saying we’re down to Aranda/Riley, with reports that both have already been offered and have possibly even come to terms, let’s assume that’s true. Which hire would you favor of the two and what percentage do you feel like it’s down to them? Also, who is your dark horse pick?

1. Aranda (best fit and best long term hire imo)
2. Riley (our QB in heisman race every year)
60%

Dark horse: Napier or Rhule (if Brady comes too)

My excitement ranking is 1. Riley 2. Rhule 3. Aranda. If we get any of those then I shite my pants. Alternatively, if we get Tucker, Franklin, or Jimbo then I fall into a deep depression.

Aranda. He knows defense and he is obsessed with game planing. Lives in the film room. Just need someone that knows what the hell they are doing on offense.

1. Riley (most proven on the big stage, despite yesterday’s loss) 70%
2. Aranda (not much HC experience, but looking really good)
Dark Horse: Napier (program builder that’s had a lot of success with limited resources, consistently punches above his weight class)

Only one I wouldn’t be able to talk myself into is Napier.

LSU is hoping for a long term hire here. In that case, if you're looking at a "dynasty" (N$) type coach, you want the consistency to be your defense.

Aranda has already proven that he can field top 20 defenses year after year at LSU. He has also already proven that his defenses can shut down Riley's offenses, even when the talent gap is remarkable.

I'm nobody. But the obvious choice IMO is tFolder.

It’s Tucker if he goes 9-2 or better.

What does this even mean? He hasn’t even won the Sunbelt yet….

Wait. You're saying that both Aranda and Riley have been offered the job? Do they go "rock, paper, scissors" to decide which one gets it?

I’ve been an Aranda fan for years, but I’m not ready to give him nor anyone the keys with such a small sample size as HC. Consequently, I feel there’s zero probability that Scotty feels differently.

How do you figure? He loses the big game every year.

How did you manage to copy from one post and respond to a completely different post?

The sexiness of Riley has always been intriguing.

But shite man I love defense and I think aranda and his stability on that side of the ball could put LSU back into the defensive force we were used to for a long time and that excites me.

If we get either of these 2 I’d be happier than shite.

Well there are those pesky “big stage” playoff games that haven’t gone so well for him.

Aranda can't recruit or make a good offense. Yes, he has a great defensive mind. Do we want a Miles offense with 3 star recruits?
