Nah, I think the Egg did the first one and Maximus did the second.

Thanks, Im glad you put them up. I guess I just needed some laughter. Every time I go back and look that Sports Illustrated picture just cracks me up. Have a good one.

No. Jerry will not stomach the 35-3 arse whipping.

Saban will be in the discussion for the Cowboy's next coach. Jerry only has 3 or 4 years left with this team. Saban could come in and win a Super Bowl in his first or 2nd year. I think it still gnaws at Saban how he failed in Miami. There is a big difference with inheriting the mess in Miami versus this Dallas team. Besides, living in Dallas has a whole lot more to offer then living in Alabama.

I will be very surprised if Wade Phillips keeps his job! Jerry Jones has an ego about the size of TX, and who else could he blame for a 35-3 loss in the playoffs on but the HC? Now, I'm not sure whether Miles would be in the replacement picture, but I certain hope he will! If not, I do hope Saban is offered half of Dallas; he'd certainly go. He might even go for less, because he is the type to go for the challenge. Saban won't be challenged any more in Gumpland, because he's already done it all there.

It was super bowl or bust for Wade this year, Jerry will give him his walking papers. If not I will really be surprised.

I'd sure as hell fire him if I were Jerry Jones.

Don't think that Saban's and Jones' egos could both fit inside the stadium at the same time.
I don't believe a big name coach heads to Dallas because of Jones' ego. Any big name guys would want to make the personnel decisions, and Jones won't allow that.
If he gives Wade his papers, will name Garrett HC. IMO.

if anything, Wade stays; Princeton gets his papers.
Phillips is 34-17; only the Patriots, Colts and Chargers have more victories in that span.
The players want him back; he'll be back.

He deserves to keep his job. They won the division two of the past three years. Getting to the playoffs is job #1 and he's gotten them there twice and one game away from doing it the other year he was there.
Is he the strongest head coach? No. But he is a good defensive coach and that is important as well as continuity of the system.
Winning in the playoffs all comes down to matchups anyway as we have seen so far. Most of the games were blowouts and the teams that won weren't necessarily always the better team but enjoyed the matchup advantages. I'll take a coach who can win the division adn get me to the playoffs every year.

I love it. People act as if Wade Phillips won an important game. It was a wild card game people! Big deal, he would have had to win another and at least get to the NFC championship game. Ask yourself this, do you think Jerry jones is satisfied with beating a crappy eagle team again in a wild card game and then getting blown out by the vikes?

Wade Phillips signs extension
quote:
Owner/general manager Jerry Jones announced Thursday that Phillips' contract has been extended through the 2011 season. The Cowboys, who declined to reveal the financial terms of the deal, gave Phillips a guaranteed two-year deal instead of picking up his contract option for 2010.
I know it's an extension, but for some reason if feels like a vote of confidence type of situation.
