Nobody’s can “steal” him because he’s under contract.

But IMO the Saints should seriously considering hitting reset and step one of that would be to trade Payton for a boatload of picks.

Yeah a team that's 8-8 with trash at QB, WR, and TE really needs to reset?

No, No, No, please No. We can’t replace Payton in short term just like you can’t replace Brees short term.
Keep Payton and use his experience to rebuild!

What the frick?! Do you realize the masterful coaching job that Sean Payton pulled off this season with what he has had to deal with?!

There is not another coach of Payton’s caliber out there. Period.

In the NFL I believe an active head coach under contract has to be traded.

He’s a 49ers fan so of course he wants that.

Doubt it happens but I imagine the Saints would promote Dennis Allen immediately and take a lot of the drama out of it

We’ll see what SP can do without Brees, so far it’s nothing to get excited about.

They’ve entertained it before.

The New Orleans Saints may entertain Sean Payton offers during the offseason after another disappointing 7-9 season.

Coaching Changes board should not even consider closing until after Black Monday.

Sean Peyton should wait around and go all out for Wilson.

Where have y’all been? This was common knowledge 5 years ago.

quote:

Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reported there were "backchannel communications" between the Indianapolis Colts and the Saints regarding a potential deal for Payton. However, per La Canfora, "the talks ultimately broke down over draft-pick compensation."

La Canfora noted the Saints were "likely asking for at least one pick in the top two rounds."

La Canfora spoke to Colts COO Pete Ward, who confirmed to him he took a call from the Saints about Payton but added the team "quickly decided" it wasn't interested and moved on.

Saints reportedly 'open' to trading Sean Payton in offseason, L.A. prime location

For the second straight offseason there were back-channel communications between the Colts and Saints about a possible trade of Sean Payton, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, though the talks ultimately broke down over draft-pick compensation.

It’s also 100% false. Lacanfora has never had any information with the Saints. Long before that article came out, like several years, Payton openly disparaged him. This story was mocked by everyone surrounding the team at the time.

If it doesn’t come from Glazer or Underhill it’s almost certainly nothing.

Every year people try to make this happen and it never does. He’s not going anywhere.

I don’t think you know what “actual” means either.
