I think with all the hot smoke and rumors of Riley coming to LSU 2 weeks ago, I think Woodward knew then that Riley wasn't coming and that is why the talk died down.

Woodward either mad a run at Riley and lost to USC, understandably. You can't fault Woodward for missing out on Riley with USC.

Woodward used that to wrap somebody up and Riley talk was leverage. Riley and Woodward may have used each other to get what they wanted.
With the talk of Baylor coming up with a new package for Aranda, somebody was still talking with Aranda this last week or 2.
I suspect USC and LSU have been talking with Riley and Aranda. USC likes the QB/offense guru types and went after Riley hard.
I'm glad we are not paying $12 mill for Riley who never has had a focus on defense and would drop a game or 2 every season when faced with a stiff defense.
