LSU has talked to several coaches but the main 4 are Riley, Dabo, Napier, and Franklin. Aranda is a wildcard or dark horse from what I’ve heard.

Napier, Franklin, Aranda are very close in preference. But the word is Woodward really likes what he’s been hearing from Napier lately (as in they have talked recently). So he is that 3rd candidate at the moment from what I’m getting.

As long as it's not Franklin. I'm good.

Eh I mean I’ll take Franklin over Napier….and I don’t really care for Franklin but you cannot possibly look at those 2 resumes and come away thinking Napier is better

That’s contrary to state law

The job has to be advertised after the separation

He’s in the mix quietly. Many people in the administration are in the mind of if USC wants him they can take him. LSU is not gonna fight or try to outbid anyone for Franklin including Penn State. If Franklin becomes the head coach of LSU it won’t be 10 million a year, and it will be because LSU has been told no from some people.

I upvoted you because this gives us a break from having to constantly focus on this daily coaching carousel. Thanks!

YES.

Will it be announced by this time? I think also yes.

Will the assistants be announced at this time? Not many, they will have bowl games to play.

You underestimate the cult of Napier.

His following and people that think he should be a front runner has kind of amazed me.

I found him intriguing at first but just not all that impressed on a deeper dive. Go to TCU and prove me wrong though.

I'm interested to see the responses on a Riley or Fickell vs Napier thread. I guarantee there are people who would legitimately pick Napier.

If not by Monday, 11/29, then our next coach is in the CFB playoffs.

Just like how, when we didn’t have a new baseball coach by the 3rd week in June, we could pretty well infer that our guy was in Omaha.

Someone has been pumping him up as the next LSU coach for almost two years.

There are a lot of detrimental narratives that seem to magically appear regarding LSU and LSU coaches over the last 15 years or so. They start or message boards and talk radio, get repeated by certain reporters. Get repeated like urban legends. It’s almost like someone is intentionally providing misinformation.
