Great defense in 2020 means holding the offense to FGs instead of TDs in the red zone, and then creating a few timely sacks and turnovers.

My shtick will be what it was in 2018, lamenting that Saban's loyalty to someone so unqualified caused him to piss away the greatest collection of offensive talent he'll ever have.

And for the "everyone's defense sucks now" crowd, how did a Big 12 defense hold the same offense that shredded Bama's defense to 20 points? How did OSU shut down Trevor Lawrence? How did fricking Indiana hold Ole Miss under 30?

Bama fans predict will be no drop off just like after Bear.

Alabama was still a damn good program in the 80s after Bryant stepped down in 1982.

Well I think you know why. There are better examples to make this argument with.

But shouldn't saban fix that?

If saban keeps seeing breakdowns on the same play he would've fixed it by now if he could've

The 2020 Alabama defense got better at recognizing and stopping those wheel routes, RBs in the flat, crossing routes, etc. But stopping elite offensive players is still going to be a difficult task. If Alabama can’t do it better in 2021, when they have a lot of key experience back on defense it’s probably time to try something different.

Wonder why Bama fans unanimously want him gone then

Because Bama fans think their head coach is Jesus Christ and that no one should be able to score on their defense ever.

Golding is not going to cost Alabama shite. You know damn well Coach Saban is all up heavily involved in his defense. Last year Alabama was the walking wounded at linebackers. That team scores so fast it’s hard to look like the 85 Bears. Here is the deal. Golding won’t put up with Saban dressing him down like he did Kiffen and every other assistant Saban has ever had. Pete Golding has no problem telling Nick Saban I’m not your whipping boy get fricked. If Pete Golding sucked he wouldn’t have lasted this long under the GOAT.

Fact. The two may respect each other but they both hate each other. Don’t be surprised if we don’t land this guy from Cincinnati that Pete Golding isn’t hired in some capacity and Trev Faulk coaches linebackers. And O wants to run a 4-3 over 3-4 is BS. We saw how that worked out this season. Put the best 11 players you have on the field and run whatever the hell we have to so the other team doesn’t score. Pete Golding gets a bad wrap that young coach is pretty damn sharp.

He's going to cost Bama the game (that and Sark having one foot out the door), the only question is how badly.

I'm not going to predict Golding's future but he will not cost Bama the game. No one is going to out score Bama this year.
