This ESPN writer thinks so, but will he find a job available that will be willing to pay him the $4 million he is currently making at Mississippi State?

LINK

Also, if he does leave State, who should they go after?

According to Scarborough Maryland, Miami, South Carolina or USC (which he would there but I see them going after more of a high profile name after Kiffin and the Drunk)

Yeah, he's not landing any of those jobs.

I would be happy to have him at USC. Pretty underrated imo

Maryland and Miami would be lucky to get him. South Carolina could do a lot worse.

This. Mullen is winning at Miss State. That's really hard to do.

Whaaaaaattt?

$4 Mil'/year may be a lot for any coach, but the dude is gooood and way underrated. Unbelievable play caller, game day guy, young, and has a proven system. Give him a few more built-in advantages, he'll be a nightmare to prepare against. The dude is legit as they come, IMO.

A lot of people overlook this. Mullen is having a 6th straight 7+ winning season at Mississippi State. Has taken the Bulldogs to 6 straight Bowls, has been ranked #1 in the nation and has put up great offensive numbers. He also wins games he is supposed to.

I dont get why so many fans on the rant act as if Mullen isn't a great coach b/c he hasnt beat Saban and Alabama (not many people have)

Mullen is definitely an upper-tier coach. He is consistently winning at probably the 2nd or 3rd hardest SEC school to recruit (after Vandy and Kentucky).

rumors were that VT reached out last year through back channels and he was not interested. Wonder if that is still the case.

Tha hell?

Any of those schools would love to have him. I'd love to have him at LSU.

Mullen is a really good, proven coach.
