I really do not know and something else I do not know is: the definition of 90%.

Shoop and Pendergast were 90% on their way to LSU according to reliable sources. Now sources are saying Mills and Hunter are 90% staying. Braxton Miller is 75% on his way here too.
What about Schiano, Haley and Orgeron:/

Just wondering where people get their numbers and why do they post it? Its safe to believe 10% of everything posted in this place. I haven't lost a second of sleep over a new DC. I know 100%, a dang good defense will be on the field come time to play!!! Geaux Tigers!

I'd say 90% of what you see here is wrong. Could be wrong about that though.

You're either coming or you're not, you can be 99.999999% sure that you're coming and still not come.

brick Haley is not a big name. Fans want a big name if the person who was here left on his own, lsu fans want what they consider a upgrade.

can a guy who hasn't been a DC in 15 years be considered a step-up?

impossible to spin it that way. The look of it would be lsu went cheap or no one wanted the job. Both bad "views" imho

A valid concern about Haley is the underperformance of the dlune the last two seasons. One can say early deflections caused that, but you can the point to specefic can't miss prospects like freak Johnson not playing up to potential and why guys like Gilmore and herron can't even see the field.

What isn't valid is people automatically assume because we had co dcs in 2008 that any hires within are doomed.

Why I think it is possible Haley could be the answer is you will run the same d we ran the past 6 years and add O to the staff. Adding o could sure up any of the people that say Haley finishes second to top dline recruits.

Only way a Brick hire has any positive affect is if O comes as well. A great DC and BeBe would be optimal, but if that's not possible than at least get 1. If we don't get O, then it is going to look god awful.

Maybe Brick had an idea that Chavis wouldn't listen to inside of 2 minutes. We can only hope.

Yeah to the fans. But if we improve next year it will just be the sane case when we hired chavis. People didn't like that hire. If it doesn't work, then everyone gets their wish and Miles is forced out sooner than later.

Unfortunately, you dont. The wrong coach could severely limit the defensive production. Look no further than LSU's offense to see that.

As far as Brick, he MAY end up to be a good hire later on. But that ultimately makes him a bad hire right now, because it's a risk that LSU shouldnt have to take.

My other hope would be this. Maybe chavis wasn't letting his position coaches make the personnel changes. Maybe he was. In the case of welter I can only blame chavis considering he's the supposed lb guru.

This is true. But it could still work in the short term as well. Our defense hasn't changed, Haley has been making the calls on the sideline. Im just assuming hes picked up some knowledge.
