I'm willing to give him that benefit. One big difference last year was LSU was loaded with offensive talent, especially at the RB position. They may not be as talented next year.

There is no hate. Actually it’s the exact opposite. People are very appreciative of Esminger. That doesn’t mean that he is a top notch OC like what was promised upon hiring an under qualified head coach.

The fact that Orgeron is reneging on the promises that he made in only a years time is very disheartening.

There was no search for a quality OC . Orgeron wanted Esminger, and therefore this sham has been nothing but smoke and mirrors. Aleeva going along with this and signing off on it only adds the remaining dirt that will cover his grave when this fails miserably!

I would love to hear any arguments made that Esminger is even an upper eschelon OC . My only question is how much stroke does the Bod and Taf have to remove Aleeva and Orgeron when this collapses next year.

Putting up 600 yards of offense against a 4-7 Missouri team and not scoring a single point against Bama is not top notch !

Why not Ensminger?

ZERO POINTS AGAINST ALABAMA

We shouldnt need any other reason. they are in our division. we have to beat them to make it to the sec championship. We just hired a guy that cant beat them. much less score any points against them.

Do you believe Ensminger is the best OC that LSU would be able to get in an open search?

Do you believe he can outscheme Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, etc?

Do you believe he would be hired or considered as OC for any other SEC job...or P5 job in the entire country?

Further:

Do you think the college game has changed at all in the 20 years since he was a full-time OC?

When you hire someone from within the program, it says, "We are doing a lot of things right. This person sees what we are doing wrong and can fix it to make us a better version of ourself." We do not believe this is what we are getting from Coach O. We believe that the most glaring problem was that the offense. The offense was pre-historic and needed to be brought into the modern day. We bought into that philosophy, and agreed that a modern offense would push us over the hump. We believe Canada was a step in the right direction and are frustrated that the effort lasted for such a short time. Additionally, it appears Canada was not allowed to run the offense the way he wanted and with the players he decided. Due to this, we did not get the bang we expected for our buck.

Finally, I believe that most fans do not agree with every decision Les Miles made but they trusted his decision making ability. Due to actions that Coach O has made, his decision making has come into question. Two examples of his poor decision making are:

A. Hiring an OC and not understanding or believing in his system.
B. Allowing the governor to run plays as the quarterback at practice was a bad decision. Allowing the media to record the governor running pass plays was worse.

O did change practice methods which seem to reduce the fatigue of the team during the season. Good on him.

Commitment from the university is strong. While we may not like the AD, it appears that they are willing to spend money on the football program.

Defense is going well.

Recruiting is going well.

Ensminger coached at West Monroe High School 15 years ago and wasnt even the OC there...he was the WR coach.

I didn't see the press conference but read reports that Steve said they are going to run fast, hurry up, no huddle. What experience does he have doing that? None. Plus I don't think Aranda wants to hear that. All I've heard is pro-style lately. And O is saying we're doing everything. This is BS... they've never done this... nobody on staff... how are they going to teach it? Am I in the Twilight Zone

I was going to explain, but i think everyone in this thread said it all. All you have to do is read the responses and comprehend them.
