He learned from Aranda at Wisky. Aranda has built the foundation on defense. He could just step in and not skip a beat with the talent assembled on defense... Thoughts?

When did he learn from Aranda?
He was a player 2002-2004 ( aranda wasnt there)
And he became a db coach at Wisconsin the year after aranda left

Eta. Didnt realise he studied under aranda before taking an official position on staff. My apologies kind sir

He’s definitely at or near the top of the list. Had the 4th best defense in the FBS and did it without elite talent.

He's from Wisconsin, played at Wisconsin, has stacks of cash and loves the area.

He learned from Rex Ryan, not Aranda. (Aranda did learn some from Dom Capers btw)

Made $1 million this past year and likely getting a raise this year.

He isn't leaving.

He’ll be tough to get. He’s from there and went to school there.

In February 2016, Leonhard joined Paul Chryst's staff at his alma mater as defensive backs coach.[12][13] In his year off between retiring from the NFL and being named DB coach for the Badgers Leonhard spent his time studying college film with then-Wisconsin Defensive Coordinator Dave Aranda and familiarizing himself with schemes that exist in college football that aren't prevalent in the NFL, such as the zone-read option offense. Prior to UW DB coach Daronte Jones leaving UW for an assistant coaching position with the Dolphins, Leonhard had been asking Paul Chryst about joining the Badgers staff.[14]

In February 2017, Leonhard was named the new defensive coordinator of the Badgers, replacing Justin Wilcox who became the new head coach of California.[15] In late November 2017 Leonhard was named one of five finalists for the Broyles Award which recognized the top assistant coach in college football.[16

Probably not but LSU would be wise to offer him 1.5-1.8 a year and make him say no

He has the #1 3rd down D.

That's my favorite defensive stat.

You do realize that’s chump change compared to what he would be offered, right?

He’s not going to be offered here, but just saying.

Especially when he just saw Aranda go from unknown DC to Power 5 HC at a good program within a couple of seasons.

Chump change for a DC with 3 years experience. ok...

1.5 would make him top 10 in assistant salary.

I think some of you don't realize Aranda's 2.5 is a bit of an outlier.
