Forget that he cut his teeth at FLORIDA STATE of all places...very successful. Forget for a sec he'll get a fresh start with better athletes and recruiting (yes its true)...with better assistants. We all know the accomplishments after being coach in waiting. I've sat back and watched the "eaux and Herman lobbying. Its becoming nauseating.

Here is what you eaux supporters are missing...I don't need to remind you this coach has to be able to beat the bama machine..THAT is the bar. Period. Who is best for that? Well...

Those that have been around long enough know jimbo knows where all the skeletons are buried. He knows all the unwritten...not talked abouts workings/rules of big time college football. Does Herman??? I am inclined not to think so. Saban will squash him like a bug. Guess who bama would go after if saban retired tomorrow? Dabo? No. That's fandom speak. Its Fisher.

He's the COMPLETE package. There should be no bitching over housing stipend or car allowances.. I don't give a shite if he wants a pack of white Buffalos...ALLEVA don't frick this up. Don't take NO for an answer...throw the bank and the kitchen sink. Just from a PR/RESPECT/FEAR standpoint ...will pay off instantly. We will be a recruiting Juggernaut. He can handle boosters like no other.

Herman can scheme with elite talent to beat Bama with the best of him.

In fact if I am Bama would be far more concerned with LSU hiring Herman than any other coach.. because he actually has his teams prepared for big time games.

I think most will agree they'll be very happy with Herman or Jimbo.

You're out of your mind. The combo of Herman/Aranda = death to Bama's dynasty.

Surely Alleva views this hire as instant job security

Worst case scenario Joe has some breathing room for quite some time

I can't "really argue against that.

I am coming at this from an arms race standpoint...assuming saban stays ahead of the curve and eventually gets his number.

I have no doubt Fisher will match bama talent wise...size and strength. If you can be on equal talent with saban...its over

I guarantee fisher will better here then at state.

Herman is a FANTASTIC choice. I'm just saying from a PR and recruiting standpoint... Its a slam dunk. Always has been. Herman is more risk/reward imo

I mean, of course we all want someone who can win that's the most important thing. But if you really sat back and analyzed coaches nobody makes more sense than Jimbo Fisher. He fits the culture at LSU, philosophy and is extremely familiarity down to the alumni/boosters to the administration. I always say it's often overlooked at how important a coach fits into LSU's culture and that was so obvious when Miles first became coach here. It took awhile for fans to settle in with him but someone like Fisher will be liked immediately by LSU fans. They know him and he knows us.

Derek Ponamsky. When he was hired by O, we all wondered what for. Well, we quickly found out what for. PR. It was a sleezy move and I've lost a lot of respect for a lot people cause of it.

This PR campaign to get O the job is the move of a person that knows he doesn't deserve this job. By no means should Coach O even be in the top 3. Only way he should get the job is if Herman/Jimbo turn it down and then about a half dozen more folks turn it down.

Since the day O took over he's been like f'n Edwin Edwards in this bitch. The really good coaches, well, their resumes speak for them.

Remember when Herman beat Jimbo head to head?

Remember when Jimbo lost to Louisville 63-20?

Remember when Herman beat that same Louisville team while jumping out to a 31-0 lead?

I do.

Agreed. His resume is as good as sabans when Bama hired him and better than harbaugh.

I would be thrilled with herman, but if jimbo will come, he's gotta be the pick.

Show me Jimbo's record of knocking off a consistent national power like Bama....would Clemson be the closest comparison??? If so he is 4-3 against them....

IMO He is not the homerun hire just because he worked with Saban. He is a more expesive LM
