Honest question. He is a great big game coach and would jump back into the SEC in a heartbeat.

Would be a good hire for UT (not to mention we owe him a bunch of beatdowns)

Great question. Tubbs and Charlie Strong were at the top of my wish list before DD got canned.

I would prefer not to get a retread, but out of all the retreads Tubbs would definitely be the best

I hear you, but he is a damn good retread. I think he is a pretty damn good coach. He did a very good job at Auburn and Ole Miss.

I happen to think he is doing a great job at Tech. I mean have you ever been to Lubbock? Its a shite hole. To get talent there indicates he can recruit.

I am sure this former Auburn HC would be hungry to get back in the SEC again

I really don't want Tubs back in the SEC. I love cheering for him to do well at TTU, and don't want to have to pull against him if he came to the SEC. But, UT would be getting a helluva coach in Tubs and it would piss off the gumps to no end.

He'll at least coach up what talent they have. You know what you're getting with Tuberville..really good coach.

Lackadaisical recruiter, though..which is a problem in the SEC and inevitably what got him pushed out at Auburn imo. But what he does bring in, he'll definitely maximize.

UT could do a lot worse than Tuberville. But they do have their pride (for the moment) and they'd be hiring a two-time SEC retread.

Dude won at Ole Miss for God's sake

I'm shocked no other SEC school who had been looking went and got him. Someone with SEC HC experience is just too much to pass on. Besides anything that makes the gumps mad...it has to be a good thing right?
