what he brings to the table, we're already better at

if OP walker produced a couple 4/5 stars EVERY year it MAY be worth it (we'd have to assume wilson stayed at a major SEC program)

well if we're going to have a straight up recruiter and so so coach might as well be at RB, hopefully we're trading that for a good WR coach

our offensive staff is weak as frick though

he's at UTenn

he has 1 commit as of right now, a 3-star TE

2 of his targets committed elsewhere (robinson to TAMU, reed to AU), and he's left with a couple JUCOs, only 1 of whom has scheduled a visit with UTenn, and a 3-star WR

if this info was accurately available, then we could talk about it. No sense in speculating for the most part.

we dont know how many players he is accurately targeting
-for all we know he could have sent him to hit LA hard with realistically no shot at any kids here.

he's prob sent to MS as well, knowing Ole Miss and MSU are on the rebound, and Bama is on top and Auburn is looking to be coming back too.

too many variables to say "ohhh he isnt getting so and so, so he is no good".

shite, Tenneessee has a lot of veteran coaches on their staff. And a lot of good recruiters(Orgeron, Lance Thompson, Kiffin, Gran). Wilson is like a 4 year college coach. Who knows what responsibilities he has.

other than brown, who has he ever recruited that LSU really wanted and went after?

That's not really a fair comparison. Ole Miss didn't target a lot of the guys LSU wanted because they knew it was a lost cause...

As for his coaching:

Did pretty damn good with Benjarvis Green-Ellis.

-Damion Fletcher at Southern Miss went up in his ypc by nearly half a yard and recorded a career high in receptions.

Those are good things.

i don't think he's a bad coach. i think it takes a spectacularly bad coach to frick up RBs

which is true for just about every LA kid anyway

rivals shows that he landed absolutely zero recruits for oklahoma state.

eta: really it doesn't show the data for those years for some reason.

it's like i said earlier

porter grew into his role very well and worked his way up the ladder

wilson was hired on as a gimmick guy so O had a guy to recruit nola. i just don't think LSU is in need of that

he's a young, black guy who played the game at the very least I don't think he'd have a problem being = to porter

i only remember that from the post-jimbo meltdown when everyone thought monken was going to be OC, like monken was some spy miles had brought over from OSU to steal jimbo's playbook only to stab jimbo in the back

it was very dramatic

yeah, that makes a lot more sense now. before i always thought that sounded far fetched.

damn, monken was a pretty damn good coach. les had a pretty good staff at okie state. better than his staff here.
