love that song, like the coach, but he is not my first choice.
Kiffin is my first choice, but I really don't think that's gonna happen.

He’s going to want more money than Kelly was making and a long-term deal. I like him as a coach, but I’m not sure I could make that hire.

I think Drink is a fine coach for Mizzou. The LSU job is a whole different animal.

I like Drink, but I see him as a guy that can turn a program around but likely not get over that hump to be elite. He's the guy to take a program from bad to good. We need the guy that can make us elite again.

I remember hearing similar comments about Nick Saban when LSU hired him away from Michigan State.

He's not my #1 choice, but I wouldn't be mad at it.

Yes, I also remember similar comments about guys like Tom Herman, Brady Hoke, Charlie Strong and many more. That goes both ways

What should he have accomplished at Mizzou to be considered for the job at LSU?

Ruffino's 2 picks:

Throw the bank at Kiffin and make him turn you down.

Second choice, Eli Drinkwitz

Drink loses anytime he plays a good team. He has no regular season high profile wins.

And he’s going to lose 3 out of 4 to finish the year.

I wasn't denying his accomplishments at Missou. I think he's a good coach. Like I said, I think he's more of a guy that takes your program from bad to good rather than good to elite. That's just a gut feel, not based on anything he lacks in his career at Missou. Frankly, I felt the same about Kelly, and was right. He took us from the dumpster fire we were in after CEO but couldn't get us over the hump.

It still feels like he doesn't have a signature win in the SEC.

Mizzou beat Tenner in 2023 36-7.

That Tennessee team went 4-4 in the SEC and is arguably his biggest SEC win as Mizzou's head coach
