Also, Fickell was not head coach at OSU in 2016. LINK

Bottom line - he is not a HR (cant miss hire) by any imagination.

No coach is a sure thing, especially ones taking a leap from a G5 to a major program. But, sometimes they are exceptional hires.

Matt Rhule for instance was phenomenal at Temple. Temple had never been good at football. He turned the dumpster fire that was Baylor and somehow got people to buy in and they contended for the Big 12. Point being, any hire carries some risk, but you have to look at the upside.

How many home run hires are out there that would even consider the job?

What exactly is the problem with his resume compared to other viable candidates?

He’s too pale for one thing. He’s going to USC for another.

You seem to hate everybody, so I don’t really take that as a compliment or a dig.

That’s just in the two most recent pages of your post. You may need to check on some anger management issues.

post the comments I was responding to someone asking if Orgeron keeps his job if we beat Alabama, someone hinting that we'd hire Romeo Crenell. This coaching search is bringing you tards out like moths to a flame

He’s had more sustained success at Cincy than either of those coaches.

Why isn’t he the next Brian Kelly?

I think he declines LSU offer.

It will be Marcus Freeman 2.0

lets address herman...he didnt build the talent at houston. He was left more talent than the rest of the league combined. he had more 5 stars than rest of the league combined, had something like 50% of the 4 stars in the whole damn league. first year went 13-1 with big bowl win then started next season with a win over #3 ou, after that he lost 4 games to teams he shouldnt have.

Fuentes was not ready for that VT job. Sure he built memphis but he only had 1 year of moderate to good success and VT is hard to win at. totally different.
