True story.

But if/when that happens, we will get back to the ol “ADs are the world’s worst negotiators” argument.

It’s the Circle of Life.

Timing was part of it but the bigger answer is A&M simply gave him everything he wanted with the promise of essentially giving him anything else he wants going forward if he wins. Even though the results weren't there the Aggies have given Sumlin a blank check whether it was facilities or going after any assistant he wanted or paying him personally. The Leadership is also fully committed to doing whatever it takes to win. A&M also is only getting richer and there is no reason to think the money spigot shows no signs of slowing down.

LSU has great facilities and deep pockets as well but the last couple of years have shown there are limits. It's a great job with far better recent history and dominates one of the most talent rich states in the country. It just doesn't have quite as deep of pockets as A&M.

I agree with everything but the LSU doesnt have the money. We have the money to give Fisher whatever yall are giving him.

We just have bad leadership

Woodward and they paid up, though if he wanted that I can see why LSU didn't pay

Yeah the 7.5-million isn't the issue. The 10-year deal makes sense to turn down. I'm all about locking a guy up but 10 years is insane.

No you don't. If you did, you wouldn't have that retard with a binder (Thats beat us twice already).

Who gives a shite about a few millions?!? Seriously, the SEC network brings $40mil per school each year. You should be asking, why didn't we commit to winning?

Exactly why I didn't want Jimbo. We'd be paying Les plus Les 2.0 even more to coach here. Would have been a dumb move by LSU. But so was hiring ED.

He's better than sumlin though, and they overpaid for him as well.

Les 2.0 can develop a QB. Thats what LSU has been missing for 10 years

The natural beauty surrounding the campus and the city of College Station. And don't forget the beachfront property and hot, sexy Aggie chicks.

Better facilities, stadium, cleaner town. Quick copter ride to Houston if his son ever has an emergency (Memorial Hermann, plus many other excellent hospitals). Heard he likes hunting..world class deer, duck and quail hunting on any place he desires. All in all just a more attractive location for his needs

...limitless glory holes around campus, a plethora of bathhouses, etc.

That looks like some private high school visiting A&M and that's their class photo.

Money is relative.

Exactly.

If Jimbo doesn’t work out in say four years then A&M will owe him $40 million. If the price of oil is over $70 a barrel by then A&M raising that $40 million would be as hard as Iowa fundraising $4 million.

The only real limits are in the chickenshit administration. LSU once made a guy named Nick Saban the 3rd highest paid coach in CFB coming off the 90s. Bidding wars aside, all it takes is leadership with brass balls, which we had at the time, and certainly don't have now.

I equate Joe Alleva to Joe Dean, but it's not fair.

Joe Dean didn't have the foresight to build it. It got built despite him by Emmert.

Joe Alleva inherited it and somehow decided Joe Dean was right all along.
