Why does Bertman Hate Saban?

Bertman was Saban's bitch.

It may be that saban was less than honest with Bertman during the initial phase of the Dophins thing. I also remember skip publicly saying when bama announced saban's deal that he was proud that lsu would not do something like that.

That pretty much sums it up right there. Saban didn't take any shite from Bertman. To be fair to Bertman, it was both of their faults that they never hit it off, they both have huge egos and both want to be "the guy." It wasn't all on Bertman. A lot of it had to do with Saban, and I can partially understand Bertman not liking Saban.


Also, just FYI, Bertman and Saban not getting along started LOOOONG before Saban went to Miami. That just put a cap on a very tumultuous relationship between the two.

Bertman had his feelings hurt when Nick left. He had tried to control him and was unsuccessful. He needs to get the sand out of his vagina and grow up.

Nick stole Skips thunder when he got here. Football got everything, baseball got nothing in terms of facility improvements. Thats where it all goes back to.
Also, Nick reported to Emmert and not Skip.

It is always somewhat amusing regarding what some people put out here as "fact". But if you insist.....do you know Skip pesonally? Do you know Nick pesonally? Or, is this a repeat of "but, I know people 'high up' in TAF or the 'Athletic Department' who know". Tell me this; how many children does Skip have out of curiosity, and what was Sandy's profession?

Everything the other 2 posters said about being Saban's bitch is correct. I'll add, Saban went around Bertman for permission etc. many times and this pissed Skip off. He went straight to Board of supervisors, chancellor etc when he had issues and never worried about Skip or acted like Skip was in charge.

Bertman resented Saban b/c Saban acted like the boss to Skip. Bertman then pissed off Saban when Saban felt like Skip was anxious to push him out the door when Miami offered the job. Saban felt like Bertman didn't want him at LSU b/c Skip wasn't trying to make Nick stay, something Nick wanted Skip to do. Skip's behavior during that December in 04 was a factor in Saban's decision to leave. thats it in a nutshell.
