Wondering where Mr. Real is today after his famous inside sources let him down. They obviously lied to him bout Coach Miles going to UM on 1/8/08.

And wasn't his info from a "TAF" insider? Must have been one of those "high level" TAF contributors, let's see, maybe in the $100 a year category that gets his "inside information" on The Rant?

I concur!!!!!

Yep. I wasn't ready for a coaching change. Althought I do admit I was intrigued by some of the possible candidates out there had Les gone.

I wasn't either! I guess this comment will still irk some of our faithful, but I recall telling my sons's three years ago when Les was hired, that I felt in my gut, that he was going to be LSU's "Bobby Bowden". They always reminded about the "Michigan clause" and I concured, but told them, if he doesn't go, I personally believe he will be here a long time. His personality, character, work ethic, and recruiting skills will eventually win Tiger fans over. Now, I really believe that to be the case. I do think the man is a good and decent person, and hopefully his actions through all of this will convince some of his detractors that we should be happy to have him. Now, if someone can teach him to "communicate" a little better in front of the media, we're "home free"! (LOL)

Well Rocket, one thing's appears to be certain; it looks like my "old friends" still know what they're talking about.

You may or may not remember earlier in the week, but in one of the threads I responded to, you pointed me to a similar "Detroit Free Press" article that continued to raise questions about Les' intentions. I responded by saying that I still had some "old friends" that still "run in the circles" and that they shared with me Les was going nowhere and is here to stay, depsite what may have been reported elsewhere. Just glad to see they still now what they are talking about and happy to see Les IS a man of his word!

Would have thought it was possible for Miles to leave, but he has sort of painted himself in a corner here at LSU.

Not only with the board, but with his familhy as well. What do you think those kids of his would say if he "reversed course"? "Daddy, I though you said we were staying"? Sure would make it difficult for him in the future to get them to "buy into anything" he tries to tell them as their father. Thin we all know he is, as reported to be, an outstanding family man, and I for one whould believe that his "family character" alone will keep him from changing his mind. Maybe not, but I believe the man when he says "My family and I are at home". Too many people are tyring to read "way too much" into the lingering banter from elsewhere IMHO!

Why doesnt this just go away?

You known, I can tell my wife every morning before I leave the house, and every evening when I get home that "I love her"! But, it's up to her to believe me. Fortunately for me, she
does!

Obviously Scott Rabalais ("The Advocate") didn't have any games to write about this Sunday, so he resorted to the routine "shite stirring" journalistic special.

What more does a guy like Miles have to do to convince people, and further more, why do invidiuals such as yourself continue to want to "stir the pot" with the good ole the "glass is still half empty" attitude?

Your keyboard must be worn out by now with that same, irrelevant post?

for the second straight game, hester gets double the carries of the rest of the backs. He's a great guy, great competitor, but he's still a f'ing fullback(with great hands by the way). We have four other backs who can score any time they touch the ball, and instead we run sweeps and the option to a bruising back with 4.5+ speed, and that's before he took a beating for the past 11 games...

Where do the idiots like you keep coming up with this stuff? It really has been boring all year! If you perceive yourself to be astute, or "stirring the pot" for the hell of it; do yourself and the others and give it up.

Huh? Know you are happy to have Bo, and we are happy for you to have him; but you need to re-check our offensive output their bud! Unless I'm mistaken, today was our lowest offensive output of the year!

The mark of character for a "journalist" is to not report rumor as fact. Herbie has no character.

I can agree with you on that point, with one exception. If we thought that all reporters, sports or otherwise are "factual" all of the time, we're dreaming. It would be like always trying to find "the truth" in a court of law. Reporters have to "rely" to some degree on surces, and I'm sure do as a good a job as possible to verify their source. Sometimes they miss. Is all I was saying I would be willing to give him the "benefit of the doubt" if that were the case. However, when the mistake was made (after Miles calling him out personally) to me, the real thing that showed a "lac of character" was his refusal to own up to the mistake and to perpetuate his story. And yeah, I have no problem understanding how the initial report could have skewed a championship outcome!

Miles SIGNED a contract extension at OSU and a week later left for LSU...the contract they are speaking of has not even been drawn up, much less signed.

We must have just watched two separate press conferences, I guess. If you believe what you just posted after watching that, plus the BOS always has to sign off on any new contract or major revision. OK, you're right a lot of similarities between OSU and LSU, but if that's what you want to think, go right ahead!

This may come as a suprise but Kirk's not a bad guy

I agree, Kirk Herbstreit is probably not a bad guy overall. However, I would bet that most of us on this board were raised by a Father and Mother that when you make a mistake, the mark of character is to "man up" and admit it? He lost a lot of "points" with me and others as well, I'm sure; not for the report, but for coninuing to cover his arse. That's the part that is causing him to take the hit; as rightfully is should!

ESPN spin to cover the frick up

Well stated. My respect and opinion of ESPN has gone to a 1 out of 10 after today. Not because of the report, but the inability to "man up", particularly that B.S. "cover" story late this afternoon. :dope: :dope: :dope:

So, you believe Miles is going to keep all of that. Or, did it possibly dawn on you that he will most likely use a great deal of it to supplment his assistant coaches salaries and keep a great staff?
