I don't expect us to, but if we pay Jimbo $12M/year, that's going to be in the range of the realistic expectations.

Dude Les Miles won 11 or more games 5 of his first 7 years here. And oh by the way, a good chunk of that period involved going head to head with Saban and Meyer in the same year. This isn’t some pie in sky pipe dream.

Whoa tell me you don’t reading comprehension without telling me you don’t reading comprehension. The point is Miles is no great coach by any stretch of the imagination and he still won 11 games or more five times in a seven year period. Who cares whose players it was with? If you think of it in terms of the program only and not worry about who’s the coach then it’s 11 or more wins 6 times in 9 seasons and three national championship game appearances and two Natty’s from 2003 to 2011. 11 wins a year at LSU isn’t far fetched; it’s been done.

We just had 2 VILLAGE IDIOTS win national titles in spite of themselves, because LSU is that great of a job. What could a COMPETENT coach do here???????
I have said before that we should NEVER have a single digit in the win column after a full year. That would be ZERO PROBLEM for a qualified coach at LSU. In most years, we should at least make the playoffs, and when it expands to 8 or more, we should HARDLY EVER miss the playoffs then.
Your post suggests we are unsatisfiable nut jobs as LSU fans. I say we just want the performance from a staff that is justified by what they are paid and the resources/tradition available here. It's like being happy that your mailman delivers your mail PERFECTLY from Mon-thurs, and then just shreds it and tosses it on Friday and Saturday. That ain't good enough.

It's been done at Florida, Auburn, Texas and USC too. Other than Bama no school sustains that.

Why do dumbass fans think that have realistic high expectations automatically means that we expect to go undefeated every year? It's exhausting.
LSU should win 10 games, finish in the top 10 and be in a New Year's Six bowl nearly every year. I get that it won't happen every season, but it should happen in most.
I don't get why anyone would equate being pissed about being .500 and losing to multiple unranked teams with expecting to go undefeated. It's fricking stupid.
