re: Why did Orgeron just recently start loving LSU and LA?

This is true, and how quickly people forget.
Also, the story that he got an LSU offer after he'd agreed to terms with Tennessee comes from O himself, and is palpable bullshite. "I turned on my cellphone after getting off the plane in Tennessee and saw an LSU offer! Dang!" was literally his story. Utter horseshite, but then again the average Louisiana resident is an imbecile and would probably believe it.

i agree. there is a lot of reasons to try to justify keeping O but it would just be too much potential drama if he stayed. i doubt he stays and gets mad, like with USC, and then gets another DL/RC job

I would imagine he is like the rest of you and loves who ever pays him the most money. If it's the flagship school from his home state that's even better, but the if he doesn't get the gig and someone offers up the cash you can bet he would love them too.
But his one selling point is that he's one of us and loves us. You're saying he's a mercenary with a terrible coaching record, domestic abuse arrests, etc etc.

Would we want him to stay on Herman's staff?
Honestly, I originally said yes, but as time has passed I think we'd be better off without him.

And he'll end up at Alabama probably. And allllllll the O fanatics will come back and say "SEE WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT HIM!"
The fear that he ends up on the Bama staff is very real among people around here.

Are people also forgetting he was VERY INTERESTED in the Syracuse job last year before playing LSU for a raise?

Self promotion and selfish interests. I understand a guy trying to better himself and the challenge of getting a SEC HC job. But being honest about it he will put his own self value and aspirations over that of Louisiana. That kind of guy. He is an actor plain and simple. But I will still take him as a DL coach and recruiter. Just not a HC.

He loves Louisiana and lsu way too much to ever do that to us!!!

When Orgeron was hired as interim head coach, my first thought was that this is USC all over again and that it was going to suck to lose him.

And he wasn't good enough for them. But he's good enough to be our HC?

And Karl Dunbar never wants to coach in college again.

Isn't Karl Dunbar leaving though? They could be pointing to that if true. I would still think that O would want to be a HC at that point.

if we promoted ensminger or Aranda, he'd be pissed that he didn't get the interim tag
it was lose-lose b/c he wants the HC job. end of story.

How much backstabbing did Coach O participate in to get rid of Miles early so that O could slide into the interim job? Excuse me, O wouldn't let anyone refer to him as the "interim" coach. A man that is so worried about labels should definitely be at ULL.

good question
he has no loyalty to LSU or Miles and is obviously obsessed with a potential HC slot
wouldn't shock me

You're probably right. Sucks to lose him as staff member, IMO. Solid D line coach, and tough to beat recruiting Louisiana.

His camp has been running a PR campaign to undermine the current hire.

I have become so disappointed in many people during this Coach Orgeron campaign. And that's exactly what O has done, run a political campaign.
Orgeron was campaigning even before Miles was fired. He says the right things in public but what he's telliny his minions is very different.
The point is that love/loyalty for LSU does not really exist.
