This is another issue. I have a feeling most will get behind O after bdp and grimes are fired and we bring in a major oc.
However not running a real search and not waiting is really stupid. Alleva is a retard and our money guys don't have the balls to seize power

This type of stupid perception is the answer. We clearly hired the 3rd tier candidate but we didn't wait for him to officially be the backup to the backup so maybe Joe can spin it that weren't left at the alter by Fisher and Herman.

If Strong doesn't get fired and we hired Herman it would be on borrowed time. He would leave as soon as that Texas job opened up next year. Then we would be in the same or worse position

He basically knew Herman wasn't coming so pulling trigger on O before Hermans off board makes him look smart if O is somehow successful. If he waits, then Herman chooses Texas then it looks like desperation hire.

This.......and from some reports he wanted Saban money, with long term contract.....no way you chance such a thing, he may prove to be a great coach in the future or he could be a Summlin/Jones type.

He could have interviewed other candidates while waiting on the Herman situation to play out.
We interviewed only one candidate. It makes no sense.

Waiting for Herman to talk to Texas makes him more expensive. Another thread said he asked for Saban-level money. His resume isn't yet worth that. By waiting, you tell him you might still pay $7mil, when he isn't worth it.
O doesn't excite me, but waiting doesn't get us Herman. It's time to get behind DaCoachO.
