It seems when we have success or a good system, everyone pops smoke? I cant understand why someone would leave a consistent sucessful program like LSU. Money does weird things, but LSU is a prestige program.

we have only had 2 decent coaches since charlie mac. saban left for the nfl and miles is still the coach last time i checked.

agreed with chicken, and put yourself in the situation, you wouldn't leave a team you were coaching to go coach back home where you played and coached before?

The days of Paterno & Bowden are gone, especially in the SEC. It isn't just LSU, it is all of college football. Coach Miles & Ritch are tied for longest tenure in the SEC-6 years-the problem isn't unique to LSU.

It's not like Les is looking to leave LSU. There is literally 1 job in all of football that he would leave LSU for and it just so happens to be open. If it wasnt for that he would stay here the rest of his career

Only Richt has been at an SEC school longer than Miles. Nobody can keep a coach (or can't wait to fire them, one of the two).

Dream jobs keep getting in the way.
Saban dream: NFL until he realized that's another level and he cannot demean players, it wasn't for him. Cause he's a tool that likes to treat people like crap
Les dream job: Michigan
Let's hire a guy that views Lsu a dream job.

going to the nfl i can understand, but why accept a lesser challenge (IMO) going to Michigan when you are part of a great tradition, conference and have recruits coming in? yes, CLM is still the coach as of today, but why consider Michigan?

The nature of this beast called college football does not encourage that longevity any more......ANYWHERE! We live, unfortunately, in an instant gratification and what-have-u-done-4-me-lately society!!!
We r all to blame for this!!! I have seen the enemy and the enemy is US!!!

Right now, turning around Michigan is a huge challenge...

Saban wished he had not left
Miles has an opportunity to coach his Alma Mater..
both coaches have left LSU as a great "opportunity" for the next coach
