I'm not saying it's impossible. Like a previous poster said It could be a situation where he is happy where he is but he wants to coach at a program that is traditionally more respected.

TCU has twice the endowment of LSU FWIW. They are moving to the Big East and will get more revenue for athletics now. TCU could buy and sell Les Miles. The same can't be said for LSU and Gary Patterson.

Since when is endowment money used for hiring football coaches?

First of all, I doubt that. Second, if you want to talk revenue, don't compare what the Big East could offer to what the SEC can offer. Weak argument on your part.

If LSU wants him they'll get him.

I have stated many times that he was never interested in leaving TCU.

It's a pretty good indicator of where your school is financially and what the athletic program can do financially. Oh yeah, did you see the $13 million dollar student/athletic academic facility they just finished?

All the move to the Big East does is make their money situation for the athletic department that much greater. Plus, they get a cake walk to the BCS each year. You don't get that in the SEC. And TCU already has plenty of media love. If they go undefeated in the Big East, they will likely get a BCS National Championship bid unless other big time programs are undefeated.
Also, TCU fans love Patterson. Miles wins 10 games and is three years from a National Championship and half the fan base wants him gone. Patterson could win 15 games the next two years and will still have a job at TCU. TCU is also in a good place to recruit. Mid-Texas at a prestigious school no problem getting athletes there.

Dude, two years ago, TCU was lucky to get 30,000 fans per home game. I'm not sure their stadium even holds 40,000. It's a small private school in an urban area. Their athletics support is a fraction of LSU's.

LSU has had one these for years now.

He has turned down jobs in the past.

He has even turned down the ND job last year.

He signed a 6 year contract with TCU last year after being offered the ND job.

I know that his name will always be on the list for jobs, but I never get the sense that he will jump on any offers.

Don't kid yourself. TCU and SMU have money out the wazoo. Any yes, that's a technical term.

People wise, yes. Money wise, I'm not so sure.

Just goes to show that TCU isn't as far behind LSU as everyone seems to think they are.

Bottom line, TCU isn't Tulane, ULL or some other private school. They have lots of money and some tradition from back in the days of the Southwest Conference where they use to have player payrolls of what we pay our coaches. They can compete if they want to.

It's only 40,000 seats for a reason.

LSU is one of the few athletic departments that actually makes money. I'd love to see how many season tickets LSU sells vs. TCU.

TCU has 8,696 students and it's in an urban area with professional sports. TCU isn't LSU, and it certainly can't "buy and sell" Les Miles.
