Most sane Bama fans dont want Deboer gone. Especially this coaching cycle and this late in the cycle. Most of the up and coming coaches have already landed new jobs. I mean the pickings are slim even for a top profile job like Bama. The last thing you want is to make a bad hire and set the program back.
I believe Deboer is staying. Apparently this Michigan stuff has been known about for a few weeks and been investigated since. He lobbied for Bama to be in playoffs He just signed the number 2 class and Michigan would be a pretty substantial rebuild with loss of scholarships and such. Next year he might start to have more of the pieces he wants for his system so I would expect better performance.
If for some reason he takes the job. I have no idea who we would go after. I guess Lanning, Kiffin and Cignetti would be the first calls (i dont see kiffin leaving but you gotta call). After that I think you call Sark and see how happy he is there. Then maybe Demeco Ryans maybe?

Same place all these "rumors" start. Social media. A bunch of Mich fans shave said Deboer is the target so it becomes fact. I'm sure Mich brass has him on the list and probably at the top but I'm also sure there are others on that list.

I still don’t understand how some posters on here get the idea that successful NFL coaches would leave their jobs to coach in college. A&M fans did the same with Dan Campbell, LSU with Sheppard and Brady.
