I hope Dillingham but I have a weird gut feeling that Matt Campbell is somehow waiting in the shadows.

The backup plan all along has been Frank Wilson. Get yourselves used to it.

It will be a redux of Alleva’s “Our man was on staff all along! He WANTS the job and he LOVES LSU!”

And Ausberry is just a puppet. This is a Landry/BOS decision.

I don’t think they have a backup plan which is concerning.

So, a bunch of guys on a message board ALL recognize that there should be a backup plan, but you think that the people who are actively looking for a coach don’t? That’s about as ridiculous a scenario as I can think of.

I think you severely underestimate the dysfunction in LSU’s leadership at the moment. You have a hand-picked political appointee as the President who has only been on the job a few weeks. An interim, not interim, “yes man” as AD. A meddling Governor with his political donor BOS.

I think you severely underestimate just how powerful the billionaire boosters are at the end of the day. They didn’t round up a bunch of committed money—reportedly by only 1 guy—to buyout Kelly at that number and then just leave everything else to a bunch of unqualified people in new positions and let them just have 1 candidate.

Billionaire Booster—“I’ll commit $54 million to buyout Kelly. That’s how much I hate him and love LSU football. And I’ll throw in on the new coach and his staff. But I’ll leave who that is and that whole process up to y’all. Try for Kiffin, but if he says no, frick it. I’ve got no idea. Good luck.”

Get fricking real.

Who the frick cares? Half the fan base will love the hire, the other half will hate it and on the fist 3 and out half the fans will already be yelling to fire him and on the first touchdown half the fan base will post memes about “he is the one”.

Or LSU has high money boosters running the show which is better than anyone currently in place to make decisions
