Wasn't Durkin rumored to be part of the deal to accept HC at Auburn? Not gonna say you couldn't make a move for him but I imagine it'd be tough if that's the case.

Supposedly why Sumrall pulled out bc Cohen was gonna force him on Sumrall. Dont know how much validity there is to that, but it has been said a lot.
Cohen got pushback once Sumrall was out and word leaked that Durkin was gonna be hired and circled back to Golesh.
It is unclear whether or not Durkin is gonna stay on Golesh's staff. Most are praying he does stay because his defense is pretty good and there is talent already on the roster he would help retain. The current rumor mill is he is not gonna stay and is looking to get a HC gig. I dont see the upside for him leaving for another coordinator job if Golesh wants to retain him. He's already one of the highest paid coordinators in the country after Ohio State tried to poach him last year. The fans and players like him as DC. I think if he does leave it will only be for a HC job.

Geez we just got rid of one kid killer that we all pretended to be okay with.
Durkin was more directly responsible than Kelly - was right there when the player was having heat stroke.

Based on what exactly? He inherited a stacked defense and has had decent results through 12 games, let’s stop forcing “familiar” faces on coaches.
