Let me ask you a question then I'm going to answer it. Who took AT under his win and trained him? The answer is Ed Orgeron. We will be fine we won national titles and sec championships without him. The walls will not fall down life goes on

Austin was essentially the director of football operations, which everyone has.
Actually that title belongs to Dr. Sam Nader. Funny how quickly we forget key staff members that we have and had in place for a long time.

He’s basically the new Don Yano. No one knows what he does but he is damn good at it.

What's Don Yanowsky doing these days?

how can you regulate evals?
You regulate it by putting rules in place. Enforcing the rules that are put in place is an entirely different story.
Non-countable coaches are not supposed to be involved in the evaluation of a recruit, from giving any kind of specific film evaluations to being part of the decision of whether or not to offer a scholarship.
Do the schools or the NCAA have any good way of monitoring this? Obviously not.

hell, that would make sites like 247 effectively illegal for a coach to view
Coaches can view whatever they want. Support staff can also view, but are not supposed to be involved at all in the evaluation process.

Nader is the assistant athletic director for football operations. He worked under Austin.

Sam Nader was not under Austin Thomas. They were both assistant ADs. Sam Nader was Austin Thomas, but before Austin Thomas was born.

I guess he's under him in the phone list. That is not a management hierarchy.
Nader has been in his position for nearly 20 years and at LSU for nearly 50. Thomas' is basically a made up position a couple years ago.
LOL if you think Sam Nader ever answered to Austin Thomas.

This cat is trying to lecture me on the greatness of Thomas and he can’t even get his job title right.

people dont even know what he did, no wonder they assume he'll be so easy to replace. spoiler: he wont be. people who are really good at their jobs are not easy to replace. god knows why but some here think we can replace great players and coaches with good ones and everything will be fine because LSU. as if we're magic. doesn't work that way. we need Tier 1 to be Tier 1.
So you like most, can’t even point out specifics of what makes him great, you’ve just accepted it and deemed him a critical cog

So USC and UT just came after the guy for no reason? LSU beat (USC) and matched (UT) his other offers in an effort to keep him for no reason?
I can't see gravity either, but I know that shite exists.

there's a vast gap between "irreplaceable" and "other teams came at him for NO reason"

he wants to be an NFL GM. Orgeron didnt have an NFL team to give him, so he did the next best thing, he made the CFB GM job. he gave Austin more power when it came to shaping and designing the team on the field, power a director of football operations doesnt have. those are logistics guys, thats not Austin.
those guys oversee and coordinate recruiting, they dont have any input. Austin did.
