Who are the 'established power 5' coaches that we have a realistic shot at?

since I keep seeing on here that Woodward is only looking at established power 5 coaches, who would the options be? I don't think you could call Aranda and Tucker established, so not them. Fisher and Riley would be crazy to leave where they are at to come here. Apparently we dont want Franklin, and Fickle said no. Possibly to much baggage with Kiffen. Does that mean Matt Campbell then? I could get behind that hire. Is there anyone else? Maybe try to rehab Dan Mullens or Tom Hermans career? This is PJ Flecks 5th season at Minnesota so he might qualify as a established power 5 coach.

No one knows but Woody, but a lot of jackass’s act like they know who the next coach will be.

This is the flavor of the day on here I guess. It’s a completely idiotic dumb-as-frick statement, but I guess if y’all keep repeating it you’ll start to believe it’s fact.

Mulkey would’ve been crazy to leave an extremely solid program at an elite basketball school at the end of her career to go to a program that hasn’t been worth a shite since 2007 at a school that isn’t known for basketball, but here we are.

Fisher and Riley would both be in significantly better situations, at more a prestigious program, with more recent success, with more talent and better facilities, at LSU than their current jobs. Deal with it and stop crying, Napier shill

I think we have a shot at whomever Woody wants to go after. Riley or Jimbo would be insane to not answer a call from Woody. This ain’t old school Aleva leading the search from inside WalMart. I’ll be disappointed if he can’t pull a bad arse out of his hat.

I agree, while I have some opinions on who I want, kind of want, and don't want, in the end I trust Woodward to make a good decision and can get behind whoever it is.

Without sources, the only p5 coaches I think would be "crazy" to turn us down, if offered, are Aranda, Campbell, Tucker, Kiffin. There are others, but limiting it to the names that have been floated.

I think any G5 coach would be similarly crazy.

Any other name that's been floated would speak to Woodward's persuasiveness (or checkbook).

I'm no Napier shill but Mulkey grew up in Louisiana and played ball there. Not surprising at all she would leave if she wanted a new challenge.

Outside of Jimbo to ATM, which was not about money, what established P5 coaches have left their schools to go to another, similar, P5 school?

Also, I don't think ATM is below us when it comes to level of facilities. this ranking has Out at 10, LSU 7, and ATM 4. Our facilities really aren't that much better or worse than OU or ATM.

No one actually knows but Woodward, the agents of the candidates he’s vetted, and the candidates themselves.

Eventually when a coach is selected those who guessed that coach will be here to say I told y’all I had sauces and I was right. When in reality no one really knows except for the above mentioned 3 groups of people.

Enjoy the CCB for now it’ll be over soon and the rangers can finally divide into 3 groups. Those that love the hire, those that hate the hire, and those who come neither hate nor love the hire.

Riley and Jimbo are pipe dreams. They are not coming to LSU and frankly, LSU is far better off without either one of those pipe dreams.

This. So tired of hearing from every self-proclaimed insider that it is, or is not, Coach (insert name here). The ones that guessed right will be here crowing and the ones that guessed wrong will have pages of excuses as to why their prediction was incorrect. Just let the damn search play out, ffs.

I wouldn't say it's baggage. I'll go with he's an immature douche-bag that is run by his ego instead of his brain and is more likely to become an embarrassment than win a championship.

Mulkey had grown unhappy at Baylor because of unequal pay between her and MBB coach. That's the story I heard anyway. Couple that with her being from La, and there is a good reason for her career move.

That doesn't exist with Jimbo. Not sure about Riley's situation.

There is one coach not mentioned that meets the criteria. I'M NOT SUGGESTING THIS IS THE GUY OR ADVOCATING FOR HIM.....he is just one that meets the requirement.....Chris Petersen.

I believe Saban is 70 . He has an empire at Alabama . He has aged . Looks tired . It would be foolish for him to move . Ala boosters will give him anything he wants .
