I would love to have him as a LB coach. He was a stud at Bama and is probably one of the most underrated players to ever come out of Tuscaloosa. He was a 2 or 3 star coming out of HS, but he was a 5-star level player at Alabama.

He’s likely the next DC of 49ers when their current DC gets a HC gig. LSU likely could not land him at this point

Hire Nielsen as the DC and bring Demeco Ryans on as the LB coach. That would give us one hell of a mean one two punch at D-Line and LB coach.

I agree he is a upcoming coach, but Lsu needs a guy with experience calling plays for defense. Not saying Ryan won’t be but he needs to get his feet wet elsewhere to see if he can even call plays. Just because you are a good coach doesn’t make you a good play caller.
