I miss my yearly Raymond needs a a raise hold lsu hostage again. Dude quit giving af 4 years ago. The obsession over him being amazing is bizzare. Move on.

Maybe you should read any of the other 100 threads parroting the same dumb question. If you did, you'd know that Raymond apparently has been offered other jobs. By all accounts, he wants to be at LSU. There are few DB coaches in the country with his resume. You'd have to be pretty stupid to think many teams wouldn't love to have him.

This is the beauty of the rant. We love to shite on Napier for being a bad coach but somehow we trust his judgment on Raymond. Maybe Raymond was unhappy with the downward slide in Gainsville and was butting heads b/c of it. Maybe Raymond wanted out and they fired him so they could pursue his replacement. Maybe Raymond was the scapegoat b/c they also fired their DC. The truth is, none of us know the real answer
, And just like you said you don't know, so maybe you are making up excuses and speculating. I'll go with what I saw, The Flordia DB's were awful last year

What did utsa fire Frank Wilson? Does that mean he can’t recruit LA? Why didn’t Kelly retain Blake baker when hired? Does that disqualify him as a good coach?

Frank was not a great head coach. But is great RB coach and recruiter.

Really, why couldn’t he recruit a winning team at UTSA

Hmmm maybe the same reason Raymond ain’t shite at Florida

I agree with you Lester. I do think some coaches are just better fits based on schools/regional recruiting.

Frank isn't pulling New Orleans guys to San Antonio and Raymond is not pulling Louisiana guys to Florida.

These are Louisiana/LSU guys that thrive in the setup they have at LSU.

That post is too logical & rational for TD.

We were DBU with CR and just maybe, he was complacent towards the end of his 1st go-around. He also could have matured and learned the grass isn’t always greener.

Humans are allowed to improve..maybe CR improved but Napier didn't hire CR because he wanted to suck.

Personalities sometimes don't mix...maybe he saw Napier for what he is..a USL not ready for prime time coach

Enlighten us...what jobs has Raymond SUPPOSEDLY been offered?

There are several secondary coaches with better resumes. And as others have posted, his worth went downhill the last couple of years at LSU. He had a LOT of misses on secondary guys which I have listed in another thread and explains why LSU has been scrambling to get help via the transfer portal and extra signing of HS players for S and CB.

Lol not really. The best guys he got just transferred or kicked off the team. Covid year was weird then the O train lost all steam.

Even still, guys like Flott & Jay Ward found themselves into the league & they were just marginal prospects coming into lsu.

Right, keeping guys in state, especially when lsu is playing well is a different game. But it takes coaches with relationships & familiarity.

Then you have the team playing well, plus a competitive DB, and it makes it more alluring to other kids in the region. Houston, FL, Mississippi
