What’s the legitimate odds of Aranda wanting to be LSU’s next HC?

It’s to the point where I’m looking past O and Alleva. With that being said, and with some saying Aranda is “Saban-esque” with his drive and attention to detail, is Aranda a LEGITIMATE option to be LSU’s next head coach...meaning is that something he’s interested in??? Would it be perfect timing given the success of Kirby Smart having been a DC with no HC experience, combined with the possibility of LSU not searching for a “proven head coach”? I believe Aranda has a special football mind and would be successful as a head coach, but is he looking to be a head man? Anyone close to the situation...what’s your feel on Aranda as HC here? With the possibility being thrown around lately, I’m just really curious if it’s actually his dream or ours.

I'd say the odds of him wanting to be the next head coach are about 100%
Anyone in his position would want it.

Hell even Bud Foster interviewed for the HC position when Beamer retired.

I can't imagine he wouldn't want to be a HC at LSU with a high as giraffe pussy salary

LSU "We want you to be HC Dave"
Dave "I'm not sure if this is my thing or not"
LSU "Here's 6 million a year"
Dave "Hand me that pen over there"

It has been said that Aranda hates recruiting and wants to be an NFL DC, and not a college head coach. Take that FWIW.

He could have gotten a HC job somewhere this season or next if he wanted one.

But not one making the kind of money he's already making as a DC at LSU. Many fans of SEC teams think these 5, 6, and 7 million dollar a year contracts are the norm in college football. While it is the norm in the SEC, most other p5 schools are only paying 2 to 3.5 million. I doubt he would take a head coaching gig for relatively the same amount of money and he was not offered a head coaching gig by any SEC team and it's unlikely he would be as generally SEC head coaches have other head coaching experience before being offered. There are of course exceptions to this rule...

Precisely. Last year he made more than half of college head coaches. Now he would be in the top 50. It is very highly unlikely that he would go to a group of 5 school.

He may hate recruiting, but he loves coaching. Spurrier hated recruiting too. And he may very well want to be an NFL DC, but he also has a young family, and if being offered the HC job at LSU means a lot more money and stability for his family, I think he'd take it. An NFL DC position will never pay a fraction of what a college HC salary would. Hell, he's being paid more than most NFL DCs already. He'd be one of the top paid NFL DCs right now.

Same sources said he's happy in BR and wouldn't leave for anything less than a NFL DC job, yet he was two seconds away from being A&Ms DC

Things change, people change, and sources are wrong. Very rare for a guy not to have HC aspirations

That’s my question and concern. A lot here seem to believe he’d be interested, but all I’ve heard in the past was he wants to be a DC in the NFL with no interest in being a head guy in college. If he was interested, I’d actually be willing to watch the mOron crash into the iceberg with Aranda waiting in the wings.

One thing I think is certain. If he became a head coach, his search for staff would be thorough and complete.

Not only thorough and complete, but seems to be a person who wants and expects those under him to actually do their jobs without the desire to “do what he wants because he’s the head coach” by meddling.
