pretty much. He needs to be the ceo. He can handle how we handle off the field issues and he is the goofy closer in the living room.

LSU is created in Les Miles' image. This is what the program is, and always will be if he's there. The only question is, are you satisfied with it.
If you look at our roster on offense we are actually setup for a more spread option coach to come in and have success. Its odd since we are a power running team but if we moved to mostly shotgun 3 wide sets we could be a very dangerous team. Our recruiting as been more of a shotgun type spread pattern instead of recruiting a certain type of player for our system we are running.

Im not a fan of les and if we could hire a better coach and keep frank so a recruiting loss would be minimal id be ok with him moving on. If we weren't going to be able to pull in a good coach that fits here then id rather him stay but be in a more hands off role.

Miles has recruited great but he's so hesitant to go to an offense that actually plays to the strengths of the players he's brought to LSU. He could still have his power running, but also have a base formation of 3 wide in the shotgun.

LSU has the talent. Could be a really dangerous team on offense. It's just so conservative that the playing not to lose mentality bleeds over to the players.

I think this is a testament to how the game has changed at the high school level. The most talented high school players in the state are playing more and more in some type of spread offense (whether it is primarily running, passing, or a combination). It is going to be difficult to recruit 5* guys that run a pro-style offense. Heck, we can't even find a QB that can regularly take snaps under center.

The offensive game has changed. 10-18 year olds are playing a completely different offense than Les is trying to force them into. He will either change or the offense will continue to flounder.

LSU showed flashes early in the year vs wisconsin. Late in the game we went shotgun 3 wide and Jennings looked ok and we were able to gash them on runs. Then we just scrap it and go fricking powerI all year. I don't understand Les miles and Cams deal with trying to turn Jennings/Harris into mett.

Les Miles does a very good job recruiting. I wont say great because 1. we seem to end up with a few holes each year. I understand injuries, transfers, and players leaving early happen but we don't seem to recruit to lessen the chance of holes happening. In the 08-10 we had oline attrition, now its the dline attrition and since 08 we have had subpar qb play, outside of last year. So we are getting good players but we are still ending up with a few too many holes. 2. we seem to pull in a monster class and then fall back and then monster class fall back some. Its probably not reasonable to expect number 1 or 2 classes every year but we should be top 10 ever year.

they still have pro-style QBs out there. they are harder to find and probably wont ever be ranked as high as flashy guys. Now our fan base would flip its shite over recruiting 3 star QBs over a five star but if the kid fits the system better and has the skills that cam can actually mold then go ahead. I could deal with a lower recruiting ranking if we are going to get the most out of the talent.

What we can't do is continue to try and jam the square peg into the round hole. We either shift our offense to fit the new modern qb that is flashy or we find the talented but under the radar guy that fits this offense.

Les Miles is literally the perfect coach for them in every way. His accomplishments and style almost exactly match the history of modern Michigan football.

We just tried the lovable idiot who recruits well, mangles the English language, and wants to play power manball.

But seriously though, if the job opens up it doesn't seem like UM mods view les as a candidate. What do you think ?

football scoop article in the other thread says hackett loves les but others in the athletic department think he will publicly turn down the job.

I don't believe they'd not pursue for fear of being rejected. Their egos can't be that big

My question is would you like to lose Les as well as Dylan and let say hypothetically Toliver or keep Miles as a coach..?

This is the biggest issue, IMO.

Had already acknowledged it and went back to the rant, you pudding Popsicle.

And you're worried about losing a possible 18 year old or two over a coachin change. Scared of your own shadow too?
