Your right BilJ. Who do you call this year? Hudspeth? Briles? (Him with Harris at QB and Chief at DC would be scary) jack del rio?

I think Hudspeth would be a great hire for LSU if Miles left.

He wouldn't be the "home run" fans are obsessed with, but he'd be a good hire who knows the state and fan base.

cam would have no choice but leave. The next coach would fire his arse. I think Chavis, Wilson and Henry would all end up being retained by the next coach.

Oil and Water. Bo and Les will not be on a staff together again.

Bo and Jimbo couldn't stand the Lesticles. They bolted from BR with the quickness cause of miles stubbornness.

Ehhhhh, they aren't the top choice. People would be satisfied though.

Except that it could be used as a selling point. Hey -big swinging dick- head coach, come to Michigan and build the athletic department to how you see fit. Then in 18 months we start looking for a guy to your "boss".

If he becomes a free agent, his old buddy Nick would welcome him into the fold.

Which should be their entire pitch to Harbaugh, along with a blank check, especially given the fact that the reason he's not long for San Fran is because he and Baalke are feuding over control of personnel decisions.

True, but it's still unsettling knowing that they could literally bring in anybody without your approval. It just sounds liek a bad situation. Michigan has proven with RichRod they don't value the HC position very much, at least not like tOSU or the southern schools do.

the idea of knocking one out of the park is kinda overrated, imo.

the prospect might be a homerun, but it's all about fit.

hudspeth is probably a double (if we're looking at it in relative terms), that could turn into a monster grand slam at LSU.

who knows.

i just think going for the homerun right off the bat is kinda short sighted.

You talking about the program that canonized a coach who never won a national championship?

It's stupidity like this that makes me wonder how some of these posters even make it through a day.
Bo left to be the HEAD coach at Nebraska.

Yep.

Were LSU fans celebrating when they hired a MSU coach who averaged 6 wins a season and never won a bowl game? Inversely, Rich Rod was considered a "home run" for Michigan.

Really, the only "home run" hires of the last several years were Nick Saban at Alabama and Urban Meyer at OSU.

I told someone this yesterday. Miles goes to Michigan as the AD to remediate damage caused by Brandon. Miles then offers Harbaugh, who passes.
They aren't going to pay a 15M buyout for an AD.

I agree hudspeth would be a good pick up...but how do you keep Frank wilson with him? If les leaves frank is going to want to career upward mobility. Does hudspeth call plays? Frank can get OC title and you hire a QB coach...

Yes, the possibility of Pelini following Les to Ohio St does sound realistic.

What's not realistic is Miles having that kind of marketability.

Do you really think he would be willing to give up what he is guaranteed here?

Because they are definitely not paying that. Not to mention that Miles would be leaving the comfort of NFL talent capable of executing his simplified system.

I would welcome change and hope for an amicable separation with Miles. I appreciate what he has accomplished here. Had we won the AL game, the timing of a move really would have been perfect.

I just don't see it happening yet. It has crash and burn written all over it after a couple of disappointing seasons.

LSU would be insane to enforce the buyout. IMO we would let Miles go for way less than 15 mil

He could get talent pretty easily up here. Plus, your talent and simplified system are up against better competition down there. If Miles could get the same talent up here, Michigan would be back to being a stable, successful program. I hope he's the hire, given that it's extremely unlikely a Harbaugh comes back into town.
