Just pointing out that, if he gets 1mill more a year, it's a drop in the bucket compared to everything else TAF pays for. Fees and ticket prices have been rising for years, very little of it was for Miles,Chavis ,or Crowtons salary.
I just find it silly how people demand all these high dollar projects AND a winning product, and get mad when we throw a relatively tiny amount to the winning part. They never get so personally offended when it comes to the far more expensive stadium projects and other necessities to running a top tier athletic program.
Like those don't have anything to do with ticket increases.

LSU is also under no obligation to give him a raise either. He is under contract till 2014 at a very nice salary and winning another NC would make him the highest paid coach in CFB.
If LSU is going to give it's coaches a raise every time another school comes calling then where do you draw the line? I could understand this if he was underpaid or if there was coaches who have done less earning more but there isn't.

will allow it . Miles will get a raise for the

Well why should we stop there then, lets just offer Les 8 million and guarantee that he will not take another job. I wish for my job I got raises for doing what was expected or because I could possibly go to another job.

Without reading the entire thread, Les should be making the top 3, just set up his new contract so if the bottom drops the buy out will be affordable.

Aleva uses hard economic times as a excuse to charge more money, than wants to give Miles a smooth million to keep him here. Miles is simply not worth it. The offence has under preformed for 3 years now. I want Miles to stay, but not at that price.

Against my better judgment, I am hoping Les goes to Michigan if that is what he wants. And while I see no need to raise his salary to keep him, why is everyone so freaked out about giving him more money? What the hell do you care? It's not your money.
I am not directing this to those who don't want more years added, I get that. I am just curious about the visceral reaction to giving Les greater financial incentives to stay.

The man has 1 SEC Championship, if Michigans wants to pay $5 million for that, I'm sure we can find someone who can do that for that amount or less.
If LSU gives him a big raise, I'm pretty sure it is going to restructure the buyout. The buyout is the real problem with his contract...not what he is currently paid.
I would welcome a bigger salary, if it means a major reduction in the buyout.

How does he not dserve it? What is someone who manages a 50+ million dollar profitable enterprise worth? What do you think is a fair price?
