How do you know? I'm not advocating an uproar to hire Coach O now but "let the chips fall where they may". You'll be surprised who has interest in anyone like him. If not I hope he stays with LSU as recruiting coordinator and d line Coach.

I'm impressed!
You went to all the trouble to create yet another alter just to post something that has been discussed probably a million times.

Huzzah for you.

None.

In 2008 which major programs would have hired Dabo Swinney, but Clemson did.

Could Orgeron be to LSU as Swinney was to Clemson?

After his interim stints, I'll put solid money on him getting P5 HC offers this year if LSU doesn't hire him. If I am Mizzou, UK, Iowa St, Kansas St, Arizona, Arizona St, Oregon St, or any other "mid-tier" P5 school and need a head coach, he's on my short list. Day one.

You can bet your arse any of the bigger Group of 6 programs would fall all over themselves to bring in Orgeron.

You are free to disagree. You are also free to be wrong.

Over at 247, Shea said he has heard he will be a Power 5 HC next year.

assuming you're talking as head coach and that you already know that he's been a head coach at OM??.. Anyway, the answer is no one until now or after this season is over anyway.

after a Sugar bowl win over OU, he'll become a hot commodity.

None of those are major programs.

LSU is an elite major program.

The commentators during the Arky game vehemently disagree with you, per their comments.

Fans and most programs like the what have you done for me lately thing. Coach O is hot right now so you just never know. Let's just look at Herman, well yeah there you go.

Dabo wasnt a 55 year old career position coach. Its not even close to the same. Dabo was assistant head coach.

Les miles turned a shite program, 1 winning season from 1986-2000, into a respectable program. Oklahoma state went from getting recruiting class in the 80's and 90's to getting top 25 classes. Les miles had more success at Oklahoma state than Nick Saban had at Michigan State.

You repeatedly posting that Miles hadnt done anything prior to being hired by lsu doesnt make it true. There are these things called facts.

Well, a couple of things worth noting- he may now be worth considering at one of these schools, due to the interim success he's having here; but that isn't necessarily "short list". It just means he wouldn't necessarily be immediately disregarded as he has been in the past.

Also- not a single team you listed as a viable suitor for him, comes anywhere near LSU as a program.

This team wasn't in disaster at 0-4, it was 2-2 and all things indicated it would be like last year; in other words, 9-3 or 8-4, good but not great.
LSU did not fire Miles in the middle of the season, with a huge buyout, just to sit back and wait for someone to "take a chance on" (interim doing well, another hot flash in the pan like the Western Michigan coach who is 10-0 right now, etc). They had a very small short-list and a strong inclination that their target would sign. That points to Jimbo.
