Jimbo seems too damn logical. I know it doesn't excite all fans but what am I missing to not think this is the guy here?

Geez man.... pay attention.

#1 WE DON"T WANT HIM.

#2 We went round and round with him and his agent twice and got played.

#3 he's getting $9 mill from A&M.

THEY CAN KEEP HIM

His claim to fame at a1m is beating LSU twice and bama this year.

Too much money and I think he's on the downside of his career.

We'd basically be Miles era again with him. shite offense, can't develop a QB, great defense. NO!

This.

We already tried the Jimbo bullshite. It's just not meant to be.

Plus, if he was at LSU, and performed the way he has at A&M, would you be satisfied?

Coached under Saban
Two major HC stops
a NC under his belt
deep SEC roots
Coached here for 6-7 years and has ties to lots of donors and boosters
QB offensive type coach
Has always recruited well

I want nothing to do with the contract that A&M gave him.

I think they tried to go after him but that was shut down early. I think that’s why he got his massive contract before the season. But I’m not ruling it out.

No coach has parlayed one elite season into having an elite reputation quite like Jimbo has. Props to his marketing folks.

Please name a time, since he's been at A&M, when he's had an elite QB/Offense

He's not a QB offensive coach. His philosophy is outdated and stagnant for modern NCAA and he refuses to evolve just like Miles. He hasn't developed a QB in quite awhile and he surely hasn't done a good job developing any at TAMU.

Not remotley true

Alleva got played from people on EdO's team leaking. It was not Sexton

Sexton and Woodward worked quietly to get Jimbo to A&M. No self-destructing leaks from Sexton

he hasn't, which is mostly the problem imo. he can lure better qb talent at lsu easily. we have them already.

None of those seem like reasons to come to LSU from A&M. He’s already in the SEC. Not to say he won’t but I just don’t see what would compel him.

Here is why Jimbo is in Woodwards top 2

1) He has no buyout. That puts him as the #1 financial target. His salary gets offset by not having to pay his buyout. Smart move on his part. he gets all the $$$, rather than A&M getting a part

2) They have a good working history together

3) He produces. Still. Has 2 NC rings. #4 team in the nation. Capable of beating THE coach

4) Is very good on the offensive side of the ball. Which LSU has not had in a HC since before Saban

5) They have known each other for over 21 years, having been hired by LSU in 2000.

Here is why Jimbo would come to LSU

A) He has no buyout

B) LSU is fertile recruiting ground

C) A&M is now returning to the good old days of being the Longhorns step brother. Jimbo is smart enough to know that Texas will get the prime TV slots once in the SEC

D) He has wanted the LSU job since Miles and Ed took it from him. Its just one of those conquest things. He is driven

E) He knows once Saban is gone, all championships go through LSU. We have won 2 in the Saban era, and would have won more under capable coaches. That doesnt happen at A&M. And this might be his last shot at LSU, ever

Uhhh, 90% of these apply to Orgeron as well

And similar to Orgeron, Jimbo tanked his program after winning that NC and became persona-non-grata at FSU. He sure seems to be getting less out of more at aTm now too
