Coaching in the NFL is hard. Much harder than being a HC in today's collegiate landscape with a huge NIL advantage.
Arkansas doesn't have a huge NIL advantage in the SEC.

Nah, it's Jack Del Rio.

I'm hearing Franklin.... but admittedly I don't have super secret sources either.
Probably wishful thinking on my part.

VT thinks they're getting Franklin. Probably a better fit for him being so close to the DC area.

Franklin at Arkansas would do really well. He'd get their big money folks to put up for NIL and they'd be a pain in the arse every year.

They have the money. They haven't had a coach that was able to tap into it. Franklin is very good at that. He got Vanderbilt money to support that program. He's a politician and is a great program fundraiser.

Wrong
Walmart has entered the chat along with Tyson, hunt and others. I’ve had a collegiate GM for a power one school tell me they have up to 40 million a year set aside for NIL alone and it’s being pitched to potential hires. The money is there.

from a headline stand point. Absolutely.
From a Coaching standpoint
So no red flags on racism?

We are offering a massive NIL budget to coaching candidates.
We already have one of the biggest in basketball.

It doesnt matter that you are spending big though b/c the rest of the conference is doing it too which is why you don't have a massive advantage in the SEC.

Dabo Swinney is the whispers right now. Seems like it's too insane to be true
Franklin is still the leading candidate as far as anyone I talk to "in the know"
Outside shot it's Silverfield
Stein from Oregon and Pat Fitzgerald have interviewed or expressed interest.
Gruden talk has (unbelievably) picked up amongst the donor class the last 24 hours. But I don't think it's serious at this point.
Everyone I've talked to is confident that Franklin is at the very minimum interested, and has spoken to multiple people currently or formerly connected to the program himself to sort of "check references"

Thank you for the info!!

Golesh has also expressed interest and is widely regarded as the backstop to Franklin, but that talk hasn't had any new legs in several days.
Arkansas has interviewed or talked to the camps of 10+ candidates at this point who have expressed interest, they're casting a WIDE net and are being more aggressive than ever.
There are a couple trustees and a few big donors that are doing all of the legwork this time around instead of Hunter Yurachek, who has been sidelined. That's why there's such a huge disconnect on legitimate sources
