The real test of Coach O is his ability to replace his assistant coaches.

Figure head coaches can be successful. Jimmy Johnson stayed away from the X's and O's and focused on player development / practice habits, etc.

I'm far more concerned about the offensive staff. There's nobody on staff now who could be promoted to run Canada's offense. O would need to hire a completely new OC and the offensive restart would begin all over again.

Hugh freeze would slide into Canada's spot.

No one would be promoted from within to run either system. Coach Os entire platform is off of paying top dollar for top assistants. We will have to go after experienced DCs

Give it to Ensminger. I know it's stated he doesn't want it but we seemed to move the ball more consistently last year when he was doing his thing.

He's 100 and doesn't want the job. I'm not sure why people view him as Bill walsh, he put up some points on some really bad defenses and struggled against good defenses he faced.

I think Dave sticks around 1 more year. D should be really good next year.

I'm not worried about Aranda; other than a HC or NFL DC position, there isn't a better job he can get at the college level.

I'm worried about the offense. If Canada leaves, LSU has to get a brand new OC / assistants in there and run a totally new concept.

Really: totally new concept. Nobody runs the "Canada" offense. LSU would be starting over from scratch, again, offensively.

I would pay for Freeze’s first Nola hooker bender if he signed up as LSU OC.

For a DC?

Try to get Jim Leonhard from Wisconsin. He played there, so it might take some persuasion. But he's basically running the exact same D as Aranda, and learned from him.

For the offense? Has the Art Brilles smoke cleared yet?

It's been noted several times in the past year that Aranda has promised his wife/family that he would stay at LSU for 5 years so that they could enjoy a normal school life. And,no way is he ready to be a HC. He may have all the defensive knowledge in the world, but he's not ready to handle all the out side duties that comes with being a HC in the SEC. Canada seems like he's leaving apparently absent a change of heart.

No worries:

Bobby Hebert - OC
Aenas Williams - DC

Coach Eaux's hiring history is second only to his recruiting prowess.

His coaching tree is more impressive than most others. While at Ole Miss he gave Hugh Freeze and Frank Wilson their first ever college coaching gigs. Pete Jenkins, Canada, Tommie Robinson and Mickey Joseph so far at LSU.

He's not a coach but I'm also pretty sure Austin Thomas is only at LSU because of Eaux. Austin was instrumental in signing two 5-stars out of Tennessee last recruiting class.
