THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I hate this argument. Coaching at LSU is NOT different than coaching at any other Goddamn school! (outside of the talent level of course) Coaching is fricking coaching. Just because O has coached at LSU for 5 games does not automatically qualify him for the job! It's ridiculous. Why do 5 games over an entire career qualify the man for the job!?! It's like you've been the manager of 5 projects and now all the sudden you should be the fricking CEO (no pun intended).

The sad part is, there are a few people who's opinion I respect that seem to have fallen for the political campaign that Coach O has been running. If the powers that be at LSU fail to go out and hire a proven WINNING head coach when the program is set up as good as it will ever be...

I may just give up.

It'a a sleazy arse political campaign. I will be very disappointed if Joe hires Orgeron.

It's made me question the intelligence and overall sanity of people I once thought were very smart and level headed. The excuse I hear the most when I bring up O's only head coaching stint is that "Well, he just wasn't the right fit at Ole Miss. Here he'd be a cultural fit." So that's what matters, someone has to be a "cultural fit" and everything else will work itself out. Nevermind the fact that through these last 16 years of the best Tiger Football ever we had guys from West Virginia and Ohio respectively at the helm.
These same people were also the first to say "Hell no!!" When I asked them if it was BDP given the interim position and the team was yielding the same results would they be in favor of offering him the job?

I asked another guy, who used to a VP for a large chemical company, if he had to hire someone to be a CFO and he had a candidate come in that had spent time as a supervisor in the HR department, did an excellent job of keeping the office pumped up, fits in great with the rest of the employees, and everyone on task but didn't know shite about accounting and could only promise you that'd he'd hire a secretary or assistant manager that was a whiz at numbers to help fill that void, would he hire that person? He said "Its not quite the same situation."

Keeping Les was, had, killed much of the joy. Tickled when he was canned.

As to the search, it is interesting to follow but refuse to get caught up in, did that when OFFHC hauled his cookies to the fins

Ikr

It went from so excited to prettty concerning if they settle for yet another lovable figure head that isn't an x and o guy and probably even harder to get rid of if needed

It's just wild people want to settle for this as HC after Miles

LSU is simply winnning games they should regardless of coach and any avg coach would be winning as interim with this team vs a very down sec schedule

And it just got easier with Florida banged up at home and a&m loses their qb and yet another D we can run all over

Yeah I was surprised to see people like Shea almost campaigning for O

LSU is going to recruit well regardless

Recruits came even with the Miles issues last season

I'll gladly sacrifice a Dylan Moses for better coaching

it's depressing to feel like maybe it would be better long term for us to drop one of these last two games.
Would losing one of the last 2 games even matter to them at this point? I think if they're even considering hiring O over Jimbo, Herman and several others, then common sense has left the building anyway.

as far as the decision itself (on who the coach is), I have no input so what the hell. also, NOBODY, not even you know how successful any candidate will be. both O, Herman and Fisher have given us indications but O is only one that has actually coached an LSU team.

This is the kind of deep thinking that is scaring me.
