As you get older money is not everything, Nick knows that however he also knows that he can take advantage of the situation and extract the maximum amount of money from AL.

Nick is still the smartest guy in Tuscaloosa.

Keep your bank accounts full and check books ready.

This incident will repeat itself

Same guy who told me Saban was bolting for the Dolphins months before he did. I'm pretty sure my local sports talk radio station still has the tape when I said it.

Go play with little boys in the land of crimson. You don't know shite when it comes to these matters.

If Colt McCoy doesn't get hurt, Saban goes to Texas....

Come on, you know that even though Saban has been at Alabama almost twice as long as he was at LSU, only LSU fans really truly know Nick Saban.

I'd bet there is a major at LSU called "The Psychology of Nicholas Lou Saban".

So you are telling me Saban would be the coach at Texas if they had just offered him less years on his contract

You keep repeating this.

I know you probably have an Alabama edumacation, but despite what you were taught, 7 years is NOT almost twice as long as 5.

Did Mack earn an extra year? Did Texas hold out too long on firing Mack and Saban grew impatient? Or did Nick just see what a shite-show Texas athletics was and realize he'd be better off in total control at UA? I think this effectively ends ALL current and future Saban to Texas rumors.

This is just the end of the year Saban shuffle. Years that he feels a lack of love are the most acted out. This was a major drama year. Saban lost to AU and saw the major fall out with Bama fans. Time to put these guys in their place and get some major love. If it hadn't been UT it woulda been the cowboys or USC etc. there is always a desperate team to use as a patsy.
I was very relieved when he left LSU. Glad to see his end of the year BS come to a close . My attitude with all these greedy arrogant coaches is if you ain't happy here hit the door. If Les wants to leave, it's been interesting Les.
Let's be honest there is a lot better places to spend this money every year. I love college football as much as anyone here, but this salary escalation is just totally obscene. Look at the quality of primary, secondary and even higher education in our states. We all sux! Our educational systems are pathetic. It's time to open our eyes and set some priorities. It's a damn ball game.

I am hearing that Bear Bryant came to him in a vision and Joe Namath was there with the bear. Although not dead joe spends a lot of time in the spirit world. They all had a scotch and Saban is now a gump for life.

I don't have a link!

Posted this in the other thread, but here goes:

I don't think y'all realize how fractured the power structure of that program is. The University President, Bill Powers, who loves Mack, is under constant siege from Governor Perry and the lead Regent behind trying to oust him is the same guy who has been riding point on trying to get Saban, the AD is brand-new and politically powerless, the biggest donors and most vocal donors to the athletic department are Mack guys. I really do think they had very real interest from Saban but Mack refused to step down and insisted that he'd have to be publicly fired. The AD there blinked because everyone else in the power structure is allied with Mack. Had Powers been forced out Thursday, different story. Had Patterson had time to form his own base of power, different story. If Red and Joe had died Thursday from simultaneous lightning strikes, different story. Mack has power though guys. Waaaaay more than Jim The Average Sidewalk Fan or "Jesus Shuttlesworth" who want him out.

Shorter: Saban re-signed because Mack wouldn't leave. Mack has powerful support and a powerless AD.

Who's mad?

Y'all are happy to sound stupid? Knock yourselves out. It's actually kind of amusing.

I just don't understand the support Mack has. It defies logic. Mack has been significantly under achieving for quite a while.

There must be a lot of bodies buried in TX. Let's see how powerful he is after the Alamo Bowl.
