I don't think saban retiring at bama is a done deal. I see two options if he ever leaves bama.

1) texas makes another run
2) Detroit Lions offer full control

Saban could coach for 6-8 years or so, so his window is closing to make a move. He could coach for more than that, bill synder is about 73 right now so that is 10+ seasons for saban if keep going.

There was a deal in place and Mack brown killed it by not retiring. He must not like saban.

Next year when Texas is worse the same thing is going to happen. Only this Mack will be gone with another bad year.

Saban extorts money. That's what he does. And he veils this in the guise of feeling appreciated. That's why he left Michigan State, because he didn't feel "appreciated" ie they didn't give him enough money.

Terry's words in the WSJ were calculated as were Sexton's last January which were before his last contract.

The fact that he man has signed two contracts in less than a year, both times threatened to bolt to Texas speaks volumes of the man's character, or lack thereof. I left open the possibility, 20%, that this was all another extortion plot. I gave Saban too much credit. I should have called it from the start. The man is scum and will always be scum.

What's hilarious are the gumps who just got screwed and once again, the bend over and say "Thank you sir! May I have another!"

Next year, another contract, another raise. With no buyouts Saban holds all the cards.

Your timeline is so far off

Saban signed a extension in March of 2012. You know almost a full two seasons ago.

Good try though.

Saban re-upped at Bama to bide his time until Miles goes to Michigan in the next couple of years and then he can return to LSU.

Saban has always moved on to better jobs. He wouldn't take a dive like that.
