Is he a good recruiter? No.

Does he coach our tight ends so well that they are a significant part of the offensive gameplan? No.

Does he help in other, more significant areas? Not to my knowledge.

Why is he on staff? We have two top flight recruiters on staff, Wilson and Haley, and we seem to be struggling in Texas, which is necessary for our program's sustained success.

We don't seem to have a coach on staff with significant connections to Texas.

He's dead weight, and we should cut ties with him. Make Gonzales or Stud coach the TEs, or here's a fantastic idea, make Miles actually coach one particular area of the football team.

We need another elite recruiter, preferably one with significant ties to Texas. We sure as hell don't need a washed up TEs coach.

Les likes him. He was one of two coaches he called out by name for the hard work they've done in his return presser but for the life of me I can't tell what it is that he does.

FWIW, Ensminger is Miles' right-hand-man, basically an associate head coach.

Cut off by Ensminger in traffic?

Snubbed by Ensminger for tickets?

Found voicemails from Ensminger on your wife's phone?

Which is it?

Close, thats more like the job Joe Rob does. Joe Rob may leave at some time, Steve will fill that void. Les does like the job Steve does, an keeps him involved in many aspects of the job. Many staffs TE's don't come into play. Not at LSU. I'd like to keep him.

He played QB. He is an experienced QB Coach. He is an experienced Offensive Coordinator. I would think if given a chance he could contribute a lot to the program. Its up to Miles to determine what each coach should bring to the table.

FYI, he had A LOT to do with Mett signing.... went meet with hi on more than one ocation. Also, the LB from texas (can't remember his name) that is signing with us, said he liked the way Steve recruited him and thought he was a stand up guy. Said he had a lot to do with why he signed. I would def. like to keep him on staff!

Who knows. My question to you, do you go to practice everyday to see what Ensminger does? Are you in staff meetings, breakdown sessions, game planning? Miles knows way more than you do, that is why Ensminger is at LSU.

This. His title is that of the TE coach, but he has a lot more value than just coaching TE's.
