I know he’s a Leach protege, but what’s his trademark? Does he just like to run wide open pedal to the metal, or is he more west coast? Does he call the plays?

It’s a 100% unique system only he knows how to build and run, and he can really develop QB’s (see Ratler and Hurts). That’s why he’s so successful. It’s not that he was given keys to a Lamborghini in a league full of Pintos.

He uses the passing game to build off the running/play-action/RPO game. His spread creates favorable matchups to get the running back in space and open lanes for a mobile quarterback. He puts players in a position to have success based on their individual skills. Not only does he continue to produce next-level quarterbacks (two Heisman Trophy winners, one runner-up), but he also does a tremendous job installing the game plan week-in and week-out to the point of frustration.

It's a power spread RPO for lack of an actual name.

Power because he runs slightly more than he passes, spread because he uses spread concepts in his route trees and passing plays and RPO because he decided to add RPO to his base offense to make it even more frustrating for defenses.

It's most effective when he has a mobile QB that can actually throw, a power back to grind yards and pull the safety's up and different kinds of receivers to create mismatches. (Big possession recievers mixed with smaller fast slot guys mixed with tall pass catching tight ends and HB's plus a back that can catch out of the backfield usually in a 2 back set.

OU's biggest issue on offense this year is the RB room isnt what it usually is (He's only using 2 and doesn't have the power back. So more 1 back sets and less power run) and it causes the offense to not get in rhythm the way he likes to run it.

Y’all need to be concerned about what he does on defense, which is he gives up too many yards and points. I know important stuff like that is lost on most of you though

What's most important? How many yards and points he gives up or that his team has more of them at the end of the game?

55-9 record
