Friend is PSU grad and knows football pretty well. He is not overly impressed with Franklin. Likes his recruiting and leadership but doesn't think he is a very good X's & O's guy.
It doesn't sound like he would all that upset if he left.

It’s pretty unanimous over there that they wouldn’t be upset if he left.

Most all agree they certainly aren’t at the point where he should be fired, especially with one of his best recruiting classes about to be signed, but they also admit that they’re totally fine, if not happy, if he were to leave. They’d go after Fickell or Campbell I’m sure, maybe Tucker.

He's frustrating. Terrible, terrible in-game coach. Good recruiter but that's about it. We haven't been the same since Saquon Barkley or McSurley. The entire commonwealth is addicted to not firing coaches, so he'll stay as long as he wants, but LSU can do better
