I know he has done some dumb stuff but from a "baggage" standpoint what has he done?

How about being mediocre at best as a head football coach.

Got fired after a year and a half at Oakland.
Got fired after two and a half years at USC.
Got fired the week before the national championship game at Bama!

Tried to hit on college girls using the pseudonym “Joey Freshwater”.

The fact that the ole miss/tennessee game had to be stopped this weekend bc the fans were throwing things at him & his team, 12 years since he was their head coach isn't enough reason to know he has baggage?
A whole fan base hates their former head coach so much that they're throwing golf balls at him from the stand is a lot of baggage on it's own.

He doesn't have any. He got fired from USC because he was young and immature - probably the worst decision ever made at USC.

People just aren't used to a young coach in the social media world who tweets a lot and is funny.

Freshwater wasn’t a good husband either. We just fired O because of his off field distractions, and now these numb nuts want Joey running around campus banging coeds.

This is completely fricking false. He had already accepted the FAU job and was leaving. Saban didn't think he was giving Alabama his full attention, so he told him to go ahead and leave. That is not a firing. You can't fire someone that already quit.

That's not baggage.

He would beat Saban with LSU's talent.

I’m no Kiffin cheerleader, but what happened this weekend is really more a reflection of UT than it is Kiffin.

And I think Kiffin carries himself as a douche.

The worst run organization in football at the time. And Kiffin was right about JaMarcus.

By a clueless AD. Under heavy sanctions he wasn't responsible for.

Took the FAU job, so Saban just told him to move on instead of coach.

Dude. The list is a mile long. Even Jordy said today after the zoo that happened Saturday in Knoxville, there’s no way they’re going that route. And he’s been campaigning for him for weeks. We just fired a coach partly to get away from a circus show.

He was fired from USC because they expected him to keep winning despite the draconian Reggie Bush sanctions.

He was fired from Oakland because he was young and immature. And also, Al Davis was old and demented and forced Jamarcus Russell on him.

Lane is hitting on 20-year old Ole Miss students as we're typing this.

Not sure about "baggage" but he complained about 730am meetings at Alabama. Maybe he was joking around and the quote was taken out of context but it does show a lack of discipline.

He puts off the vibe that he's there for the lifestyle more than he is the game.

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that I pulled for him as an early candidate. But the more I read, the less I like.

Kiffin's biggest issue is believing he's the smartest guy in the room. He wants things done his way, and when guys like Al Davis or Saban tried to interfere with that, he didn't cooperate.

Saban just said a few weeks ago that he always believed Lane would be a better head coach than assistant. I personally think he'd be successful at LSU if he was allowed to run the show without any meddling from administrators or boosters.
